YES! I've finally found the radicons section !

In the spirit of the new awesome leader class 2009 picture of optimus prime that are surfacing up, I'm seeking to do my own "leader class" megatron... as he appeared in 2007.

    There are a few things I hope to correct from the 2007 mold;
    1. Hide the head in jet mode
    2. make the legs less visible in jet mode
    3. make the wings less conspicuous in robot mode.
    4. make it so that he does not have a huge tail in robot mode.

I hope to offer a new style of customs to this section, whereby since the whole thing is constructed from scratch, there's no limit to the amount of detailing that I wanna add.

So, what do you think ?

    Incompleted legs

Here's just a quick post of where I am at. There are some notes on the pictures, but just in case the writing is too small.

Of course you will notice that its not silvered out yet. That's because I am trying to build it in layers. The grey peices will be added onto the yellow cardboard. I use the yellow cardboard to build a frame-of-sorts.

"Points of articulation are circled in black."

And the knees will be double jointed.. it is necessary for the transformation. But the extra knee joint will be locked, or at least severely hinded, in robot mode.. in other words.. in robot mode, the kness will function normally.

I don't wanna give away the transformation so, I won't elaborate mode about that.

    leg structure

Ok so here is a more or less complete leg-frame structure. Notice the various points of articulation in the various poses, especially the ankle articulation.

The last pic has (badly drawn LOL) sketch lines of how I plan to add the "silver peices" to the frame.

    Everything is coming together,

Very cool! However the head looks a bit too long instead of wide. Love papercraft but maybe you could start using sheet styrene too? It's just a bit thicker than paper and more durable. How big is it going to be?

It's hard to see the amount of detail you put in when you post such blurry pics though. It's cool to see how the movie-rush-cashing of repaints and retools ended a few months ago, but now with the new movie coming out new and better movie customs surface.
