Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I've just seen the video for Megadeth's performance on the Jimmy Fallon Late Night Show and Dave Mustaine is wearing a Transformers t-shirt with a decepticon symbol while playing the "Head Crusher" song!! :D

Check here: YouTube - MEGADETH Late-Night Head Crusher - Endgame

The sound wasn't very well mixed though...

Unfortunately, wearing a TF t-shirt these days isn't enough to qualify as a fan, as its just another trendy pop culture logo to wear. Still, good eye on catching it, and who knows, maybe he is a fan.

If Animated Soundwave ever makes it to live-action, Mustaine will be my first, last and only choice for his holo-avatar. Kamina shades are compulsary.

It's not the first time I've seen Dave wear a TF shirt. His last tour I saw him wearing a Megatron shirt. Can't say whether he's a huge fan, but I'd say perhaps he has memories of TF in the 80s.

I'm a huge fan and I only have 1 t-shirt, he already has at least 2 :D  lol. Weather a huge fan or not, I think it's really cool :)  .

He's an arrogant ass (not just based on interviews, but on personal meetings as well) - I could care less what he's wearing. I'd even go so far as to say he's demeaning the TF by wearing that.

Of course you can have your own opinion and not like him (and he might also not have liked you as well), but to say that he's demeaning the TFs by wearing the t-shirt? Give me a break...

Well he is wearing Decepticon T-shirts so it's fitting he is arrogant then :)

    ------

Sort of off-topic maybe but I want to see Judas Priest wear Transformers shirts, they have some album covers and songs that have some robot referances in them and Megatron is mentioned in the song Hellrider.

Haha! This is the first time I have found myslef approving of Dave Mustaine. I may have to wear my own Decepticon logo t-shirt now.

When assholes wear stuff I like, I consider it demeaning. You're right, it's my opinion, but I call it like I see it.

I've met many a metal band in my life and Dave is definately high on the list as far as popularity. So here's why he is an ass - and this was being around him for an hour:

    1. I was called an asshole who doesn't know metal because I thanked him for all of the good music over the years. Evidently Dave isn't happy with songs he didn't have a hand in writing, hates non-album songs (ie: the song they did for the movie Shocker), and isn't happy with anyone who's played with him in the past (yes, that includes past Megadeth members...who are "traitors" as he put it). Anyone who does like those things (me) don't know music.

    2. He was so lazy that he refused to get up and get a bottle of water that was 10 feet away. He yelled at some roady for 30 seconds until the bottle was handed to him.

    3. His arrogance just permiates the room and every sentence begins with the word "I".

    4. I had a metal jacket on (you know, jean jacket with the sleeves cut off and patches everywhere...what can I say, I'm still old-school) and he put down almost every band that was on it. "Annihilator sucks", "Slayer's overrated", "Anthrax are a bunch of pussies", etc.

By comparison, I thanked Rob Halford for the music he made and we had a 30 minute discussion on the back catalog of Judas Priest. Completely gracious towards a fan.

So yeah, Dave can kiss my ass and it's demeaning that he likes Transformers - even if it's just an image thing.

I liked him with Metallica more, but it's still cool to see him where that shirt.

Dave is a very arrogant guy but eh, he's done some great music. My relationship with him ends there. I don't know him outside his fun little press soundbytes, so who am I to judge?

Anyway - He's got a kid in his late teens or so, might've picked up the TF bug from him.

All 10 months he was in the band, before they even recorded an album? Yeah, that was sweet.

The franchise itself is more relevant than Mustaine at this point. Not that he was ever huge to begin with.
