The 'boxers or briefs' question of the metal scene. I'd like to see where the preferences of people here lie.

I've listened more to Megadeth than Metallica. "Addicted to Chaos" = win.

    Metallica!!!! :rock

I started with Metallica, didn't listen to Megadeth until years later. My Megadeth experience started with Risk. So Metallica is always going to be first for me

    Megadeth > Metallica.

Metallica tries to hard to sound as good as they once did, this is most noticeable in their latest album. They are almost a shadow of themselves. Megadeth is still rockin' it out after 25 years. Their later albums are just as good as their early stuff.

I think I have that one somewhere. Been a while since I've listened to it.

Both bands are great, but Metallica was the band that got me started listening to metal. Before I listened to And Justice For All, I was on the road to being a country music fan. Thank God for that intervention :lol

I like Megadeaths music, but Dave Mustaine's voice just makes me cringe.

METALLICA!! Always loved them, always will.

It's a shame metal fans feel they have to choose one band, over the other. If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line. It better work this time....

Yeah, Megadeth FTW. It's says something, when Mustaine's name was in the credits for all the best songs on Metallica's first two albums.

I own about 7 Megadeth albums and like none of Metallica. For me Metallica has always had a few decent songs, but from album to album I don't think they're near as good as Megadeth, in fact I'd say Metallica is one of the most overated bands around. Megadeth all the way!!

Megadeth VS Metallica is the musical equivalent of Trukk VS Munky.

There's no definitive answer, and it's quite likely to end in hyperbole and personal insults.
