I believe it's the largest jackpot ever. I bet we'll be selling a ton of the tickets till 8 Friday.

It is the larget ever. I read that the previous record was $390 million back in 2007. I'll be buying my usual $2.00 ticket.

I am sooooo glad I have the winning ticket right on my fridge (despite not even being in the right country).

I thought in order to win these jackpots that you had to be 80 years old and retired? Just seems like that's all who ever wins.

    Or a millionaire.

Gotta buy a ticket. Only thing I hate is I actually imagine what I would do if I won, which is a bad thing. Espcially when you don't get any number correct.

Now according to the MN Lottery the jackpot is estimated to be $500 million. I'm guessing it'll be close to $600 million by the time it's all done.

Now what would the jackpot be if it isn't won Friday? 1 billion?

I would comission a real life transformer to be made with that type of money.

In all reality, I would tour the world till I got tired of seeing stuff. Then I would start a charity and work it to make sure that the people in need really got the money.

Either that, or build my own Dr. Evil layer.

^ Charity would definitely be high on my list too. I'd open/support an animal shelter.

Old people need as much money as they can get to spend on yellowing pants.
That's what my mother always says she'd do with a big win.

Personally I wouldn't go over the top. I'd just buy a regular house and a regular car and then live my life never worrying about cash again. Any problems I'll just throw money at them to make them go away.

Hell yeah. That's my plan. I'd have to move to an area that nobody knows me. Lottery winners names become public information in North Carolina.

My plan would to be to buy a nice house, fill it with some electronics stuff like huge TVs, etc, Upgrade my dvds to blurays, start exercising, buy tons of Transformers, and I'd lose weight in a home gym. I'd never work again. I'd put it in various investments and take the payments over time. I'd live off $300K a year or so. That is more than enough. One thing I'd never do is get an entourage. That is how these millionaires go broke all the time.

mostly I'd work towards adopting a kid and be a full time stay at home dad. When he goes to school, maybe take a class or two at college that seems interesting (cooking classes, mechanics, etc) just keep my mind a little busy, but never anything degree wise. Just for fun. The rest of the time I want to be involved with the kid. Help out with his class if needed while he is little, be an assistant coach with his little league. If I get tired of classes or nothing interests me, maybe be a child advocate volunteer.

Totally. I can never understand why some Lottery winners go public. It's almost asking to be kidnapped or tracked down and followed home so they can break into your house. Not to mention all the begging for cash you'd be subjected to.
I'd look after my immediate family, my girlfriend and a few close friends and bollocks to the idea of anyone else knowing.
The most exciting thing I'd probably do with my money would be self-publish the books I've written.

If I won the lottery I would open a midwifery clinic in a 3rd world country and try and establish a charity that pays for transport to and from the clinic for child-brides and then provide all their obstetric care for free. I would work as a midwife there, but i'd have to find another alturistic person who would provide qualified obstetric (non-midwifery) medical care (obstetrician).

    This would be my dream!!!

Apparently most people here go public because if they don't then they're not protected from hounding if any journalist ever finds out that they did win. They're not garunteed anonymity. When they win, they can just come out and get it over with and the organisers of the lottery protect them from any pestering journalists

At least that's what i've been told

For me it would be these things:

    1: Get a better house.

2: Do some good, This could be anything, like donating money towards a cure of some sort. (Like cancer, or ALS)

    3: Save some of it.

4: Whatever's not in savings, would be used for myself, and my family.
