I really don't understand comments like this.
This is like saying to a model car collector, why they don't buy a real car that "you know, actually drives".
It makes no sense given the context of others collecting representations of any given object/character.

People have different likes/needs. So to assume that their preferred choice is in any way lesser is closed-minded.

I have Terminator pieces in my collection.
Am I to assume that I should look for an Endoskeleton that can actually Assasinate people? lol

I misses out on their Prime and I don't quite dig the Megatron, but this is super cool. Hope I can catch this guy.

There's already about 20 G1 Transforming Soundwaves at this point, who cares? I swear, I never see Super Robot fans complain that literally every Getter doesn't combine from three jets, or that Ideon doesn't actually explode.

Who said this was G1? That amount of detail? Not G1.

True. It's probably safer to saw that the overall aesthetic approaches G1, without being slavish to it, and taking some liberties to make it look refreshed and modern. Prime and Megs are beautiful, but not G1. I would expect Soundwave to have similar changes.

(Plus, it doesn't overlap with MP, so if you want to collect both...)

I mean, it's still the G1 design. It may not be as simplified as to be completely screen accurate, but they're all still instantly recognizable as classic character designs.

but makes a far superior centrepiece than a glorified BARBIE doll (which is pretty much what the mp line is)

I used MP soundwave as an example. 3P is superior in terms of variety and transforming figures.

All jokes aside, it's different strokes for different folks. Some like a large collection of smaller pieces and others like just a small collection of one or two large pieces. I'm mostly just collecting action figures these days (Toys Alliance & ThreeA) but still collect some MPs that interest me.

    What do you collect?

You are getting hung up on the action feature. While yes, a lot of collectors may love Transformers for the puzzle aspect, there are also quite a few collectors who love the mythology and the characters. They want a physical, tangible object that represents the character they love. They do not necessarily care about the "play" aspect.

I'm sort of a mess when it comes to collecting. While I only buy tranforming figures. I only buy figures I find are accurate enough or complex enough to own.

Well, MAS-01 is simply amazing. I am so locked into my collection and its aesthetic, but this guy is so well articulated.

Interesting that of all my posts in this thread, that was the only one you quoted.

People get too caught up in their perspective of things.
As I stated before, one rendition of the character does not detract from the other.

We're all here for the same purpose.

See that’s the thing. I’m all about ones that don’t transform as long as they look great. I’m cool with that now. But what’s the point when they cost the same or more than masterpiece?
