My Father and his Father before him proudly drove the original beetles and I'm proud to say that I would drive this new one.

My Grandfather owned two VW beetles once coupe and one Convertible.

My Father took the Vert to school with him but it rusted out. I don't know what happened to the coupe.

Trying too hard to look like a Porsche, still succeeding in looking feminine.

This looks a lot LESS like a girl car than the last one. Kinda reminds me of a Chrysler Crossfire.

    Nope...there is not.

The old "Beetle" was never officially called a "Beetle" it was known as the Volkswagen type 1 sedan. Even with the super beetles. The title still says type 1 sedan.

I will never be caught dead in a new beetle. I drive a real one, a 1967 type 1.
Ferdinand Porsche Sr. said that his car (OG Beetle) looked like a june bug. Thus the nickname stuck...

Looks a lot less like a bubble than the last update it went through... Or maybe that's just the angle.

And for whether its a girl's car... Every damn one of the Beetle's I've seen since their release was driven by a girl. Make of that what you will.

I despise it, personally, but not because it looks like a supposed "girl's car" (don't even get me started on what I think of people saying crap like that), but because it's just ugly, IMO. That being said, I've always liked the classic Beetle, and I'd love to buy one at some point...preferably a yellow one.
