I love Mechtech, but what do you think?

 

I'm unimpressed to indifferent.

 

Mechtech would be nice, if it didn't come with both considerable size reduction in main figure and price increase. Other than that, it's useless in deluxe figures as they have no locking mechanism, and it's ok in voyager and leader figures.

 

They didn't do the dlx correctly. They can't sustain their "alt mode"

Most of them are neat. So far I only dislike Barricade's terrible weapon. Shockwave's is awesome of course, but it almost doesn't count because it's so integrated into him, it's like one more part of the toy.

Laserbeak's guns are awesome, but not for him. I gave them to voyager Ironhide.

 

I put Laserbaeak's guns on HA Leadfoot to arm him up a bit.

 

The DOTM figures some have been good but for the most part they have not impressed me enough. That said i love the mechtech weapons. My favorite is Fireburst Prime's gun/axe. That thing is awesome. I also love Ratchets saw blade weapon very fun weapon.

 

The guns looked kinda stupid to me, but I haven't bought anything with mechtech and don't ever intend to.

 

I actually like Mech-Tech, a lot more then I originally thought I would.

 

Worthless junk that steals design time and plastic from the actual figure.

 

They're ok, but after you take out the spring (considering if they aren't loose, ie: Jolt's) they're great!

 

I only like shockwaves and megatrons guns but besides them the gimmick is crap.

 

I'm kind of "meh" on Mechtech. Not big on the seperate weapons for the deluxes since they can't hold the "deployed" modes at all, but I'd rather have a big seperate weapon that has the crappy gimmick and a figure that is at least decent instead of it all combined into one figure that is limited by a crappy gimmick (I.E. Blackout's Automorph, anybody?).

The voyagers, for the most part, DO have good mechtech weapons, though. With Shockwave and Megatron, their weapons actually work with the robot mode instead of against it visually and can lock in the "deployed" modes.

And then the HA basics, with their mechtech weapon "third modes", are hit or miss, but no denying Backfire's cannon mode kicks ass, and Whirl as a railgun is friggin sweet.

 

I love them!

 

Voyager Primes cannon, Fireburst Primes Axe, and Shockwaves cannon are all win. Basically anything where it can lock into place, or the spring can be taken out. I agree that the HA add on's have had some additional merit as well.

 

There is an easy mod to allow the weapons to stay locked out

 

I have never bought a MechTech toy and don't plan to unless one really impresses me. The figures themselves are lackluster and the weapons are a waste of plastic that could've been put into making the figure better. The worst culprit is Soundwave, where the gun looks like he can't even hold it up straight due to it's weight.

 

there ok but for the deluxes they are too big for them well some. i rather have a larger deluxe class figure than making the deluxes smaller just to give us a "mechtech" weapon
