Maybe they're going for a more toon accurate look with the flat gray and yellow? I don't hate it. I want the gold versions but might get these as well. What the hell. I'll go from no dinobots to multiple incarnations/decos.

 

MFT is releasing the gray and yellow versions under a different company name. Silver and gold will be under MFT.

Toon color is under Newaoli

Good news! I really like the metallic look and I really don't like the flat colored plastic look. At least not for Dinobots.

I am scratching my head to figure it out.
I guess he is upscaled, seeing as the the shoulder thing stand is over a lighter(famous unit) tall.

I'm glad to see he's got a new head without that molded soul patch, but I really hope they improved the range of motion on this figure's shoulders. The limited amount in DX9'S Megatron is part of what made him lose out to GT's legends class Megatron in my display. DX9's hits a lot of the right notes but has hindered arm articulation that limits what you can do with him.

 

Looking good, should fit in nicely with MechPlanets Soundwave.
