I really hope they upscale Rush Beats (IF Jazz), and IF's Bruticus/Ruination. Ohohoh...

They teased IF Bruticus months ago but there's no news since. I don't think they will do IF Jazz since they prefer g1 cartoon designs like Magic Square stuff. Part of the point of KOing IF Jazz is that it reuses parts and engineering from IF Sideswipe, but MFT already designed their own Sideswipe (simplified from Magic Square??)

No; they're 3mm for the powered suits, 4mm on large Diaclone reboot figures.

Their Hound, Sideswipe and Gears should pair nicely with the Hot Soldier figures. Hoping for more original figures; Omega Supreme is lot of fun.

Is MFT attending the con this weekend? I recognized Magic Square, Iron Factory, Unique Toys, DX9 and NewAge on the poster on Iron Factory's Weibo, but didn't spot MFT.

They might be. Maybe they just didn't want to pay extra to get their name on the ad. Were they there last year? If they were I imagine they will be back this year.

It looks like PapaToys will be there too.

How can mft be the legends game when the majority of their products are ripping off other companies?

MFT was/is the main factory that a lot of the companies do their runs out of.

do you really think a cad fairy is dropping off files at night or the molds are being cnc'd while everyone is a sleep off of existing figures.

the designers are almost always in on it they sell the files to whoever pays them.

i also said they are the legends game because they simply are.

competition feeds the industry and MFT is the only company that is constantly pushing the market. you either release your product fast after a tease or they drop the same bot either upscaled or a different version with tons of extra shit at a cheaper cost. they have a business model that is highly effective. beat them to the punch before they even hit the prototype stage.

i would guess that if they weren't around to keep everyone on their toes and in the game there would be like 4-7 new legends all of the same bots a year total just like the other scales. or better yet exactly like it was before MFT entered the game.

...and the size changes and mold upgrades are probably sufficient to keep them from infringing under Chinese law.

i even forgot about that part with the tweaks. the MFT tweaks that are made only help the bot.

Pretty sure you missed my point, they can’t really be “the game” if the majority of their business is dependent on other companies. Have they proven they can do their own unique molds at affordable cost? Yes, their Huffer, pipes and omega supreme prove that. But until they move away from knockoffs/shared designs from other companies then they are not truly the best around. Them using other companies designs, wether upscaled or not, is essentially them saying we couldn’t design this better so we’re just gonna make it bigger or do some minor changes

That's a fair point, though it is worth asking "What do you mean 'we', Kimosabe?" in these cases; I suspect there's considerable variability as to how much the designers in question are guns for hire or integral, dependent on the company in question.

In any case, minus seven point five from Slytherin for being derivative (or, at the very least, repetitive).

we can just agree to disagree on this one. you see thing's your way and i see them my way...such is life;)

MFT has already started their pivot from middle man factory whatever. to a completely new direction with new molds brand unification. to even their own designs being sold from under them and all that fun stuff.

these next few months will be the best there have been as far as i can tell in a long time for everyone collecting legends.

menasor has to be revealed combined, hopefully 2.0 devy will be shown soon and astrotrain will start the introduction of classic triple changers to the scene. a long with the plethora of carbots that are en route and hopefully cosmos. i cant leave out dx9 predaking as an old honorable mention as a blip on the radar still.
