I was just looking at my Meantime the other day and wandering if I could fit the insides of a cheap digital watch inside of him. Think I may just order this one instead.

See, Hasbro couldn't have done this, because then they'd have to take "Not a working watch" or whatever they say off of the packaging.

I'm not referring to any of the other figures, just this one. If ANY of them should have had functioning parts, it's this guy - if the KO makers can put a cheap watch in it, why can't Hasbro?

Obviously making the other real gear figures working replicas would be a chore. This one, not so much.

It would have also been feasible for Hasbro to add a minor zoom feature on Longview.

Hey, maybe Premium Series could incorporate working Real Gear! I might slap down $20 for a working Meantime or Longview, or maybe a High Score that had a game in him.

Figured it would just be a matter of time before someone mass-produced these.

Jin customized the first one a little over a month ago or so and he put it up on Ebay as well (actually I think he's sold 2 since that time).

Besides costs (regardless of how cheap digital watch internals are, they would have been too expensive, likely), there's another good reason why Meantime didn't have a working one - the time tampographed on him was the date the second Trailer was going to be released: May 17th, or 5:17.
