The other day I saw some of the figures from the Mcfarlane Dragons series 1 line priced at around 35$ which was a bit of a surprise to me since there's been around 5 dragon series I think by now and I've never really heard of mcfarlane stuff holding much value over time.

I decided to look at ebay to see if things were the same there, and it appears as if the dragons are going for 35+ a peice and the set is around 315$. However, looking at the subsequent series the prices drop back down to around 10$ per dragon.

So, my question is have I missed something about the series 1 dragons here that makes them worth 3 times what the others are priced at? I think they're nice figures and all but they don't seem all that much different than the later series dragons. Is it simply because they are first series or was there something different about them that was excluded from the later series?

I just find it somewhat confusing

IMO the reason for the high price for series 1 is because it was the initial line-up...know what I mean? The dragons were well sculpted but the turn-off for me was that they had almost no articulation.

Yeah, its kinda ironic in your situation. In my country series 1 was only available at a specialist shop so it was sold out very fast!

This is what I experienced as well. I was able to pick from about 10 berserker dragons at any given time. I think I even got mine on clearance if I remember right
