Prime May Have Done Something Unwise At The End?

    SPOILERS.......

At the end of "Transformers Prime" Episode 5, Prime sends a transmission into space. However, unlike in the movie, he sends it to warn others intent on attacking and invading Earth. However, in addition to Decepticons, other hostile alien species are now going to know of Earth's and their existence. Don't know if that was very wise?

Im not really sure if that was an actual transmission into space. I saw it more of just an end monologue for effect.

He's essentially saying, if you come here and you're an Autobot, we'll welcome you. If you come here and you're a Decepticon or anything mean, we'll beat your ass.

Yeah, some hostile races could see it as an invitation or challenge. Might be the basis of some future episodes.

I'm already tired of Orci/Kurtzman's "I am Optimus Prime, and I send this message..." bit. It worked really as a closer in the first movie. In ROTF it felt redundant. At the end of the Prime miniseries it's feeling overused.

I don't need Optimus Prime to be making regular Space Tweets.

Problem is, he doesn't know about everything that's out there. There could be races more advanced than the Transformers that are hostile. Even if they were just advanced, they could come with far more numbers and resources. I think Prime is just taking a greater risk by sending that message than he would be if he didn't send it.

What if they decide to make Optimus some kind of MacGuffin in this series like he was in Beast Wars? Now other alien races will not only know of his existence, but where the hell he is and hunt his ass down or try to kill him. Maybe the Fallen has been alerted and is coming after him now? Don't know.

Prime will take their faces. What? This Prime isn't as blood thirsty? Never mind.

He just said that they would defend Earth and humanity. Not that they would defeat the opposing forces. And this is Transformers. They probably don't have any races other than Earthlings and Cybertronians.

It did kind of make me wonder if other threats were out there.

In a way it would be a nice new twist for the show if the Autobots had to be concerned with more than just the Decepticons. Animated tried mixing it up a bit with human super villains but evil aliens sounds a bit more fun.

I'd like to see them bring in the Vok. Since we never really got to see too much of them in Beast Wars I think it'd be interesting to see what this writing team could do with them.

Look at it this way. The last time Starscream saw Megatron he went to space to gather the Decepticon army. Three years later Megatron comes back with Dark Energon to create a zombie army. Now this doesn't mean Megatron wasn't doing what he was supposed to do in three years. Likely one of those Decepticon groups found Dark Energon and gave it to Megatron. Megatron likely gave Starscream orders to lie low till he gets back.

Now it stands to reason Optimus Prime thought the same Megatron is gathering the Decepticons. It also stands to reason he is also sending messages like in TF 2007 for Autobots to come to Earth. Cliffjumper and Arcee wasn't with Optimus' crew in the comic. The Prime comic is set three or more years before Darkness Rising.

Basically any Con coming to Earth we will kick your ass.

Ah! Alright I missed it. Dont worry about the spoiler thing. If you dont want to be spoiled. The a forum dedicated to discussing Transformers Prime isnt the place to be. Or at least logic suggests so.

Hmmm... well, that would explain the title of the series.

If The Fallen does make an appearance, I hope he's done well and not some wussy grandpa bossing Megatron around. That was pretty lame.
