I've read up on them enough to make me purchase them but just wondered what others thought about them. i.e did I make a good purchase.

I got ahold of Red Faction: Guerrilla, Star Ocean & Legendary all on the 360.

Is it true Red Faction is uber difficult?
Is Star Ocean worthy of the time?
Is Legendary as bad as people claim?


Also I'm trading in a shite load of my old games tomorrow, not sure what to pick up so any advice on some newer titles would be great also.

I heard Red Faction was pretty badass. StarOcean is one of my favorite series, so I'm bias. So all I can say is that if you have ever liked the series, this will not disappoint.

 

Might I suggest Dead Space.
Twist gave me a loan of it and I've been enjoying it.
Scary as hell in some places.

 

Dead Space is definitely a beef-cake.

 

Hey Recall, is Star Ocean on sale somewhere? I've been really wanting to pick this game up.

 

Red Faction isn't hard. It all depends on how you play it. Normal is ok if you don't use the hammer as your main weapon. If you just want to smash people then casual is fine. You will die occasionally but with the right weapons for the job the game is fairly easy.

There are no achievements/trophies tied to difficulty either.

 

I wanted to like Legendary SO BAD (PS3 version), but just couldn't get around how bad the controls were. Great premise but bad design.  

 

Is prototype worth it?

 

I had a choice between that and inFamous, and I never looked back after getting inFamous. But I didn't hear anything bad about Prototype. In fact, I heard some pretty decent things about it.

 

But there can't be any harm in having infamous and prototype then  

Well sat infront of me I've got WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009, Ninety Nine Nights, Viva Pinata, TNA iMPACT, WWE Legends of Wrestlemania, LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth 2 & Mercenaries 2. I'm hoping to trade them all in tomorrow and since their all pretty average games and not popular im not expecting too much from them.

Windcharger I got Star Ocean for £25 brand new off Amazon.co.uk I thought it was a good price. Also I already have Dead Space its in my games to play pile and yes its too scarey  

Just had a quick go of Legendary its flawed but its quite good. Feels like a movie with loads of shit going on around you, griffins picking up cars and chucking them about just a shame for the dodgy graphics.

 

Oh no no no, there can't be anything wrong. That's why I say that I never heard anything really bad about Prototype, and quite the opposite, I heard that it was a pretty decent game.

Let me know how Star Ocean is. Now that I beat ME, I can devote some time to another RPG before Dragon Age comes out.

 

I've heard only good things about Star Ocean and Prototype.

Brilliantly so in some places.
It's only $30 (US) over here, too.

The anime was bland as hell tho.

 

But I heard if you watch the Anime in reverse, the devil possesses you and makes you watch reruns of Strawberry Shortcake 12,000 times.

 

Prototype held me over for 2-3 weeks with moderate playing. It was a lot of fun due to all the different moves and such you can learn. My only complaints are the graphics were average and the story kinda sucked.

 

Red Faction Gurellia can be pretty difficult. It's a kind of difficulty I appreciate though. You play as a resistance fighter against a suppressing government, if you stay in one spot for too long causing chaos, they'll overrun you. So to be effective, you have to strike your targets quickly and get out of the area quickly, hit and run tactics.

Well that was quicker than I expected. For 8 games i only got offered £50, which in fairness is shite. So I traded in 4 and paid the rest to get Fear 2 and Prototype
