Awwww Yeah. I'm talkin' about the REAL Maxx Steele, none of that wannabe G.I.Joe stuff. Back in the good 'ol days when robots could really crush a kid and they had, uh, suction cups fer butts.

My brother and I had most of the toys from this line when we were kids (there weren't many toys in the line ;)  ), and I'm slowly building my collection.

Anyway, snagged a nice MISB load of Robo Force bots off Ebay yesterday:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110052396498&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Fcgiurl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fcgi.ebay.com%252Fws%252F%26fkr%3D1%26from%3DR8%26satitle%3D110052396498%26category0%3D%26fvi%3D1

I sure am glad there isn't much of a market for these little base-tards...while that means they don't come up real often, when they do come up they go for cheap!

Any other Robo Force collectors out there?

    Holy crap!!

I never saw the toys, but I have 1 or 2 audio books from that series! And when I say audio, I mean a book + vinyl record.

Huh...didn't know they made those. I know they did make a bunch of tie-in non-toy items (telephones, bed sheets, clocks, etc.). They may not be the coolest toys in the world...I guess they're a great example of seeing things through those darn rose colored glasses...*looks at G1 Ironhide*...but I love em.

I've found several toys from this line MISB for less than $15 on Ebay (vehicles and other bots) and have gotten a couple for my brother as well. Even though they aren't very popular, as uncommon as they are, I'm still surprised that they don't go for more $$. I mean, come on, a 21 year old sealed toy going for less than they did at retail back in the day? (corrected for inflation)

Holy crap! I remember these! Didn't really get 'em concept-wise, but I knew a kid who has some....

The one that amuses me is the one called S.O.T.A. I have no idea what the actual company's name means, but wouldn't it be freakin' weird if they got their name from this bot?

Holy shit, I remember those! I had the blue one and one other... then my friend gave me the base and probably some other figure. Doubt I have any of them anymore though.

I have (or had, don't recall) Max, Hundred, and Vulgar. Got them at a warehouse store for cheap way back when.

Update! The guys showed up on my doorstep today and were waiting for me when I pulled into the driveway:

They are all in decent shape, but, unfortunately, the tape seems to have let go on several of the boxes during shipment. The auction said that 8 of them were sealed, but only 4 of them showed up that way. I guess 21 year old cellophane tape can't be expected to hold out much longer. Kind of a bummer, but hey, I got them for $8 each w/shipping! I now have all but one of the figures in the line in either MIB or MISB condition (still missing Blazer).
