So I was re-watching some if the earlier episodes of Prime and realized that Optimus doesn't say Maximum Overdrive anymore. Personally, I actually enjoyed that. It feels epic and kinda brings me back to TF Cybertron or any of the Japanese TF series where each attack or move had a name. Anyone else feeling that? Should Maximum Overdrive come back or returned to the archives?

I think they'd only use it if they were in a hurry, hence using the vehicle modes.

It reminded me of anime where they scream out their moves/attacks. MAXIMUUUUUUUM OVERDRIVUUUUU

I prefer that he doesn't say it. It's so campy.

I'll admit, I'm a sucker for the two or three times that Optimus has bellowed that command. "MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE!" It sounds hella' cool. Although, it is sort of lame because he's essentially shouting "Autobots, let's drive faster in this dangerous situation!" or "Autobots, run over everything!". Yeah, we got that, Prime. :lol

I'd like to have it heard one or two more times in season two, but don't overuse it. Shouting "Maximum overdrive!" is just like b**ch-slapping frogs or screaming at babies; there's a time and place for it. Don't over use it; I'd prefer that the creative staff limit themselves if they choose to bring that line back.

I'd like to see when the correct time is for bitch-slapping frogs and screaming at babies.

It needs to come back, and he needs to say even more things like it.

Split, it needs a couple more 'H's and 'E's. :p

When I find the right time, I'll let you know. ;)

Ugh, still not as bad as RID, where every character had about five different attacks, each with their own unique, name. Prowl: "Blaster fire!", "Roto fire storm!", "Missile launch!", etc.. I actually used to keep track - back in the day - of the individual attacks that each character used.

That's one thing that never actually bothered me when I watched the shows. Shouting "Optimus Primal, MAXIMIZE!", "Prowl, transform!" and "Roto tire attack!" seemed cool at the time. But it was during Cybertron that I noticed how annoying it was because TFC rarely used/said those things. Then once the movies and TFA came out I realized the utter stupidity and ludicrousness of shouting out attack names and shouting "TRANSFORM!" and then having ten characters transform individually and take up 2 minutes of time. :lol  Though I will admit that in BW, shouting out "Maximize!" or "Terrorize!" worked well because they were basically initializing an established vocal command. It worked because we, as the audience, knew that they had computers controlling their internal functions (for the lack of a better phrase). They had internal coding that had to be overridden and booted up in order to do stuff, like overriding a stasis lock command and whatnot. So I think it works in BW, but not so much in other series.

They should never again return to the overbloated Japanese TF style. I dont need to see an indepth backgroundless transformation sequence every time, and i dont need a full description along side every attack move. This technique, while quite prevalent in anime, is just a method of drawing out the sequences in lieu of actually having enough plot to fill the time slot.

Yeah, another good example. Didn't think much of it back then when I watched the UT, but now it's just overbearing.

I prefer it gone. I don't actively watch the show (haven't for a long while), but when I do I don't expect it to be campy to the point where everybody calls their attacks and stuff. Especially not from a show that's as questionably "dark" as this one.

I want to say it would somehow involve Frogger.

I liked it when it was a command for "Running over everybody while the cameraman has some kind of epileptic attack"
