I haven't seen a thread on it yet, so here's one!

I'm liking it so far, seems to have done the usual Furman thing and set up a few storylines straight from the get go which i'm liking.

One question though, who did Grimlock try and reach with the pulsewave?

Loved it. Made me forget about AHM for a little bit and helped me to remember when I really loved the IDW-verse. Can't wait for the next few issues...

As for who he was trying to reach, the two guesses that popped in my head were Swindle or perhaps Wreck-Gar/the Junkions... be interesting to see a Furman/IDW reboot of those guys.

NOT OMG AWESOME!, but pretty cool. Nice set-up issue, and I liked seeing Hunter (well, sort of) for the first time in quite a while.

You can really tell, though, that after all this time in the IDW-verse Furman has been holding back, barely having any Grimlock at all, and now that Maximum Dinobots has hit he's totally let off the restraints and gone all "GRIMLOCK IS THE BEST AND STRONGEST AND COOLEST EVER!". Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that-- it's just that everything about this series is classic Furman.

To be fair, though, the Machination Headmasters were kinda craptified once Sunstreaker shunted his consciousness into Hunter's head. Hot Rod demolished the team sent to take him and Wheeljack out.

Their mistake was their arrogance against real Transformers.

Enjoyable, though I felt the opening pages were kinda weak. Loving the return to actual continuity though. :D

I think Grimlock isn't positioned here as STRONGEST, BEST ever. I think he's basically fucked. He's on the defensive, a fugitive from Scorponok, knew better than to contact any Autobots and is desperate to stay under Megatron's radar. If Scorponok was doing something other than playing with him he'd still be under Skywatch's command.

I'm starting to ponder a troop-build of the Sunstreaker clones. :D

Absolutely loved it, I missed Furman's story threads (Revelation excluded, that just did not do his plans justice) and its great to see them brought back up.

Awesome issue, can't wait for #2. While I do like AHM, this was much better & IMO managed to get more done than the first 6 issues of AHM have.

Got my issue today and thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved Grimlock's cosmetic changes along with seeing all the other Dinobots in action again. I laughed out loud at Grimmy's response when he was teleported to the town. "Oh...frag." Priceless. I'm very much looking forward to getting issue #2.

100% agreed, with particular emphasis on the AHM part.

I want that one bad, but couldn't find it at any of the comic stores I looked at. Have to order it online, apparently.

It's a Retailer incentive cover. I assume that means it's in very short supply.

Yeah, IDW books are quite short for some reason.

An excellent return to Furman's side of the IDWverse. While AHM has been getting better, I still prefer Furman's fresh approach to the universe, especially when it comes to the Earth aspect of his "~ation" series. I'm glad that Maximum Dinobots, unlike Revelation returns the focus to that area.

What I do wonder is when this particular issue takes place, before or after Spotlight Doubledealer. I would say before, since setting it after would open a whole can of worms if Hot Rod is in possession of the Magnificence.

Not really, Furman said there's a price to using it that he'll explore in Maximum Dinobots.
