Should the Matrix of Leadership appear in TF Prime as a physical object or should it be a non-physical object residing in the Spark like described in Beast Wars?

    Good point.

I'd be up for something new, but KnightConvoy may have just changed my mind.

I always thought the Matrix was kind of a combination of both physical and non-physical.

In any case, I would rather the Matrix not get brought up. At least not untill the writers are sure they really want to do something with it.

yes that is the second half of the key right there. when time comes for it to appear, make it worth it. There better be a Unicron or (insert other cosmic level problem) that needs to be killed and or solved.

Actually I would hope that they try and do something a little more original then "it's the only thing that can defeat X-problem." Though given the alt-name for Dark Energon, it does seem like they just may go in that direction, at some point.

I totally agree with that point, but I guess I didn't think my statement out all the way to the end since they did already bring in the cosmic level problem.

I just can't think of many reasons other to pull it out, #1 X leader dies. #2 unicron, #3.. I just can't think of why you would want to pull a sacred relic out to even risk its safety for anything other than dire times.

I'm not for or against it.... I would like the story line to gain momentum in a creative way. Something thats unique and imaginative.

I'd like it to be a mysterious and ancient relic which nobody is quite certain of, nobody knows what it can do or how it can be made to do it, etc.

Or quite possibly, go with the Generation 1 Return of Optimus Prime explanation - it is a race-memory, a repository of the knowledge and wisdom of all descendants of the Primes. Have Optimus Prime take a journey into its depths in search of the knowledge needed to defeat some powerful, ancient foe from the past who was defeated in times of myth and legend.

I could accept opening the Matrix as being the key to defeating something like Unicron if all opening the Matrix does is basically bring up the Prima guide to Unicron slaying.

its in the War for Cybertron Continuity thus Prime has the Matrix, assuming they follow canon it might turn up in the season in discussion and physically show up towards the end of the series

It doesn't have to be in Prime's chest.

I want the Autobots to come up with creative solutions not relay on a cosmic artifact to solve problems.

Personally I think there should be some dire cost to using the Matrix so it doesn't get used often if at all, like mentally weakens any Prime who uses it's knowledge and power.

Also I think it would raise the mysteriousness of what the Matrix of Leadership is if it had no physical form and resides within Prime's spark.

No need for Matrix. I'm quite pleased with how Autobots didn't need any divine help so far to fight genuily powerful obstacles such as Dark Energon and I'd like it to stay that way for as long as possible.

They fight it back on a battle to battle basis fantastically, But.. I have the feeling there is going to have to be somekinda Drastic measure taken to fix cybertron, if they even plan to, which I hope.

which if done properly, you should only need it once, not anything dwelt on untill time for it to appear, and then not much after.

As for it not showing up at all, sure thing, its not a make or break kinda deal for me in anyway, I just want to make sure if its used, its not abused. This isn't mighty morphin power rangers or anything I don't think anyone has said they wanted the matrix opened on a week to week basis and every episode ending with a jacks theme remix of the touch going down.

it's been in far more than G1, in various incarnations.

Time will tell what they choose, either way with the good story telling so far in this series, I have no fear if its used.... wait... Dark McGuffergon.... Well... It should be ok, should be..
