I'm not saying TFA Soundwave is weak, I'm saying TFP Soundwave is NOT weak.

The show just focuses more on his abilities as a hacker and as a manipulative bastard, not as a brawling guy.

Yes, but would they blame Soundwave or Isaac Sumdac? The vast majority of those machines under Soundwaves control were more than likely produced by Sumdac Systems. And Sumdac didn't exactly have the best track record when it came to rampaging machines.

 

Prime Soundwave, hands down; he's like some omniscient gargoyle that is everywhere at once. I also like the irony of calling someone Soundwave and never have them speak.

 

in a fight though, Animated KOs Prime's Soundwave, then puts him in the alternate mind universe where TFPrime Soundwave is trapped in an invisible box as a mime

 

More like he tries to KO Prime Soundwave and then breaks. Animated Soundwave was pretty shitty when it came to durability.

Besides Prime Soundwave can just bomb him from the skies.

 

But TFP Soundwave's naugthy tentacles are a big problem: If any of those connect with Animated Soundwave, you can expect instant defeat.

 

He does falls apart rather easily doesn't he? All his Prime counterpart has to do is grab his guitar and bring it down on his head like TFA Optimus did. He'll split right in half!  

I suppose one could argue that TFA Soundwave could create long-ranging sonic waves to bring him down.

Hm..well, we havent seen TFP Soundwave in the battlefield yet, right? So we have no idea what he is capable of. Til now we saw a couple of his skills. So its hard to tell. But..if i have to choose one right now I go with TFP Soundwave. Its just..that I have the feeling that he will kick mayor ass when we less expected. ^^

True, but it's not like we saw much in the way of "battles" that included TFA SW either. Whether fair or not, he was much of a character in TFA. TFP SW is at least in the background of several TFP episodes and we're not finished with the first season yet. I hope and think we'll get to see more of TFP SW now that Megatron is back at the helm.

So for me, TFP SW it is!!

 

TFP Soundwave did not create Makeshift but mearly downloaded Wheeljacks data into him.

 

TFP Wave has not done any thing that could not be done by a generic. TFP wave dose not even have a personallity.

TFA Soundwave on the other hand has reprogramed the Autobots and had a two part episode as the main character and the only other characters in the story were mini Soundwaves and his minions.

 

.. but that's where the awe comes from.
