So, we are almost covered with all the mini-bots through the 3rd party companies with the right scale, size and sculpt (even if we've got 4 Seasprey:)  We have many choices and that's great!
The only one that I'm missing is Warpath! KABOOM! ZING! BLAM!
I have him from Generations as a stand-in until there is a better one and I've played with the super complicated and over-sized (for a mini-bot - my opinion only) but there is nothing else.
Any thoughts ? Maybe an add-on or an upgrade kit for the Generations or maybe KBB is about the downsize him? Rumors about other 3rd party that are about to get him out?

I assume its just a matter of time. I'm not down with the BC version, it looks cool but too big, stylized and complicated. I've been doing the same as you and using the generations version as a stand in but it doesn't really fit either. Its a hole that I'm sure will be filled soon as the holes are getting fewer and farther between. I can't really see any add-on kit making anything work for a MP collection.

I think a downsized Wardog would be a disaster. Too complicated a transformation. Making him smaller would made it even more complicated. Wouldn't hate someone else taking a stab at him though. Maybe DX9 will give it a shot. Their first stab at an MP-scaled minibot was great.

I love Wardog but now as I look at my MP figures he sticks out like a sore thumb. Still don't know if I'd want to go through the bother of replacing it

I missed the original BC one but picked up the veteran LE version which looks phenomenal so I'm not going to be replacing it.
That being said I'd happily pick up another that fits more closely if DX9 or FT did one.

BadCube Wardog does it for me, but I know a ton of people won't go near him. The transformation is complex for sure, but that mainly has to do with the lengths they went to have a large tank mode and a relatively small robot. There's no denying the transformation is a pain in the ass though. If another 3P steps up I'll take a look, but I'm pretty satisfied with Wardog.

I just recently sold my Wardog, I had him since release, but over time his look wasn't doing it for me and that awful transformation won't be missed.

yeah. Frankly, I need to do the same. I'm just lazy. I think he looks neat, but he doesn't fit anywhere for me, so I have mine next to metroplex with my legends figures :p

I think a DX9 version of warpath would be the ultimate !!
They have that fine line of intricate transformations that is also not overly complicated !!
And they can do G1 if they really wanted to !! As shown by their recent powerglide release and upcoming Gabriel !!
Everything else in terms of QC is always topnotch from them !!!

Would BC even consider a Mark II Wardog at this point?

I doubt it. The only reason we got a Huff 2.0 was because of the QC issues with the first. There are no such problems with Wardog.

The only complaint I've read on Wardog is the transformation. And as some comments in this thread suggest, he might be showing his "age" on MP displays compared to some of the more recent Minibots. They could, if they wanted to, take a stab at redoing Warpath with a more simplified transformation, etc. But they'll probably get beaten to the punch. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Yeah, I think someone else definitely takes a stab at him. I just don't think it's good business for a company to get in the habit of doing V2s of a lot of their stuff. Huff made sense because there were widespread problems with it. Just like XTB Ollie. But if these companies start doing V2s of figures that didn't have inherent problems a couple years later just to update the look, people will probably stop buying their version 1s.

You know, it might sound weird but I've found that my Generations Deluxe scale Warpath makes a great MP stand in. He scales well and cuts a pretty close MP image compared to the other 3P minis and Official Bee.

He's also way, way cheaper. :D
