Well I am finally getting these bad boys done. I just have the last 3 (which will be painted by other artists) to finish the builds on, and then I will have wrapped up this massive project. 'Toon colors will likely be posted tomorrow, as I am still touching him up.
This guy started life as a Universe Silverbolt. He was heavily modified, and had scratchbuilt wings, dino head, crest, launchers, and sword, added to him. The result is a nice addition to the Masterpiece line, and he is perfectly in scale with MP Grimlock. He stands 9 inches tall at the top of his head in bot mode, and has an impressive 18 inch wing span in dino mode. He is now up on e-bay.

    Enjoy!

Excellent, excellent, excellent. The only one tiniest little critique would be I think too much gold on the dino mode head. It's the tiniest little critique though. That aside, this is awesome!!!

This looks factory-made, and that's the best compliment that can be given to a custom, IMO. The head and wings are superb, and the body looks like it was tailor-made for Swoop to begin with.

Any chance of a better pic of the "feet" in Pterodactyl mode?

Wow, simply fantastic. If I sent you a Silverbolt or one of the repaints would you do this for me too, please. I would pay for all costs needed to of course.

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!! I knew I would see this crop up. Swoop is not a Pterodactyl, he is a Pteranodon. The head crest is a big give away. Pterodactyl did not have an elongated crest. In fact the Pteranodon species was probably the only Pterosaur on record (when the toy was made) with such a long crest.

Sorry, that wasn't directed at you payton34, that was 28 years of frustration poaring out of me. All through the 80's and 90's I saw this mistake being made and i still annoys me. I sincerely apologise if you take any offence.

Kick.ass. But, are his feet backwards in alt mode? In the one pic it looks as if the toes curl towards the front.

I will make sure to snap a pic of them when I do the "Toon colors version" photo shoot.

I may do more Swoops down the line, but after building 7 of them in the last month and a half, i desperately need a break from him.

I added claws to his kneeplates in bot mode, only because I think that is one of his "trademark" features. The Pteranodon legs flip out from his hip area, and are much more in line, size-wise, to what an actual Pteranodon's legs would be.

Thanks for the comments folks! I am glad you like him! Toon version should be up later today.
