For my $100, in addition to Classics Starscream, I'll get: Classics Prime Classics Megatron Classics Jetfire Classics Bumblebee Classics Rodimus Classics Astrotrain Takomy can keep this ugly generic seeker, thanks.
i was aware that the plastic was different but didnt think abt it until you mentioned it. yes it does feel more like a model kit. i'm guessing they used this because the mold is really thin in some parts - the wings and tailfins?
You must have gotten my normal face because mine has two smirk faces. I'm just not going to go through the trouble of getting it exchanged. Besides I like the Smirk face better from the pics I've seen of the normal. The only other problem is mine has two left leg landing gears. the one on the right leg is just up-side-down, but doesn't bother me. Overall I think it is a great figure once you get past the color.
...the amount of quality-control problems I'm hearing is...STAGGERING. If I had any problems with this toy whatsoever, I wouldn't hesitate to get a refund.
actually, i feel that the QC issues are the usual. its just amplified due to the anticipation and price of the toy.
Thanks for the review man. I'm definitely going to wait for a Thundercracker or Skywarp repaint - I was never a big fan of Starscream's colour scheme anyway.
I forget where I read this but I read somewhere that under fluorescent lighting, Starscream actually is the bluish-grey we saw in the promo pics. Can anyone confirm?
nuh-uh. see my pic. under fluroescent/with flash, hes greenish. yellow light neutralizes the green hue, makes it look grey (not shown, as in those toy show pics with halogen light). in natural light, its blue.
Geez, his colour scheme is literally more than meets the eye. I'm sure I'll probably prefer the blue in natural light out of all of them though, that is when I receive mine.
its actually not unlike the case of anime accurate astrotrain and anime accurate galvy. the purple looks hella garish under artificial light but not as bad as in person. gah, i had to remind myself i dont have anime astro
On a scale of 1 to 10 how hard would it be to disassemble this thing. If possible, I plan on dying mine black and naming it Skywarp.
It's VERY intricate, and some of it is held together with pins/that sort of thing. It could probably be done (I want to disassemble the damaged shoulder on mine & try to fix it), but it'd be very difficult indeed IMO.
This is what I plan to do.... when a more traditionally-colored Starscream comes out I will likely get it, and then decide which between the two of them seems more "Starscreamy" to me.... the loser will just become "random Seeker #1", one of the nameless guys from Cybertron that we see in the original series. Gotta say, though, now that I have this guy, I love him. Color, plastic, size and all.
Starscream looks more like ThunderCracker with the Blue color. All I ask is wtf was the designer at Takara thinking... I had to get me mine just because.... Starscream Rules!
Question: If you remove the hip kibble and attach it to his lower legs, can Screamer stand up without the support of the base holder thingy? Every pic I've seen with the kibble on the legs shows him hovering attached to the base...
