This is fantastic, as a custom, even better if they can mass produce!
I image they could tighten-up the tolerances and have the new split lines on the hood less visible if it were mass produced as well.

That being said, I think they could have taken a page out of Streaker's transformation and tried this:



...to avoid the new split lines. That would only work if there was space for a fake hood under the real one, though.

Regardless, if you make, we will buy!!!

 

That'd be very neat, to make enough mods/re-engineering to do that. Though having enough space to "tuck away" the full size luggage lid (it's not a hood!) seems impossible. His back/torso is already pretty full in both modes.

Of course, could always copy streaker's butt-flap, too...  

 

The MP has already met it's buttflap quota, let's no resort to that again haha.

If there wasn't enough space for the "Hood" to fold under the windshield, then maybe it could fold over it? Dunno, but there was definitely a lot of thought that went into these mods, so big props to Black Apple.

And if they do product it, please don't oversize it! There's already one oversized sideswipe that I don't want.

 

I'm in for the OS version, it looks better and I rather have the quality of Weijiang.

My only gripe is I want more Decepticons than Autobots.

 

Ooh. I like what it does! Seams seem like a bit much in alt mode but they just might come off as more pronounced here (almost like they have some black panel lining. But seems prototypey so I'll let it slide!)

Slim's him up nicely in bot mode tho, and I love how it gives him the same trunk as mp sunstreaker in alt mode. I'd start making noise for a more cartoon-ish head/facesculpt but I'm not sure how well anybody but Takara could pull it off (not to say I wouldn't mind seeing somebody try!)

 

Refine this and get this thing mass produced with a new headsculpt ASAP \m/

That's... honestly really cool. Like a lot of you, I'd grab a KO of MP-12 with a refined version of this change, especially if they also found a newer, better headscuplt... unlike most, I like the existing scale more than the oversized.

And if it is just a custom for the fun of it... that's still damned awesome! Always refreshing to see ways that even good toys (And I think we can all agree MP Sideswipe is a good figure!) can be made even better.

 

This would be much better if possible. Those thin "filler" stripes make way too many seam lines on the hood.

 

I like your idea. What we have is a good start to fixing what many consider MP Sideswipe's biggest problem. The custom does a poor job with tolerances and using the seams of the alt mode.

 

I'm hoping the final seems will be seemless and nothing is as ugly as the side seems from Takaras panels not lining up closely.

yeah...if someone mass produces this...I will buy it for sure. Especially in MP-12+ colors.

 

I second that emotion. I do wonder if it would be done for MP-14, Red Inferno, both regular and +. It wouldn't hurt, but I guess we'll have to wait and see if this one takes off first.
