    UPDATE:

I think the front boat part is figured out for now. Tomorrow I might make a long trip to a hobby store and get some thicker sheets of styrene to reinforce some parts, especially the wings.

Anyone have any unicron hands laying around for sale?? :)

Tomorrow I should have some pics of Fracas up.

I'm a big fan of scratchbuilds so I'll be watching this one closely. My only advice is have patience and just keep at it. Hope to see this one completed.

    thanks guys.

yea, the patience is def. kicking in. It doesn't help that I'm trying to quit smoking. Tomorrow is my 2nd week without a smoke. I wouldn't be surprised if some things get thrown accross the room :)

i'll have some more WIP pics up tomorrow.

Once you Finish him and worked out all the lil issues with 'em you should take a stab at doing a HOS (Hearts Of Steel) Scourge, You know the Blimp one. Their are not enough Physical HOS-formers in the world.

Slow down man, you're makin' us slow pokes look bad!!:D  The head looks great, I love the way you've incorporated everyday stuff for the head piece! Very resourceful! It looks like a screw on cap(toothpaste?) and a spray pump cap, am I close? I like it when we can see the potential in ordinary objects!!:thumb

thanks. yes, the front part of the head piece is a toothpaste cap, the middle part is a cap to a tube of model/styrene glue, and the back piece is the cap to a neosporin tube. put together, it looks like a pretty cool scourge headpiece :)  and plus, it saved me a lot of trouble lol. thanks for the comments guys.

this is really cool so far man. I hope you manage to fully avoid parts-forming with it being a Masterpiece.

thanks, that means a lot coming from you. I love your work. What do you exactly mean "parts-forming" with it being a masterpiece? Just curious, and whatever it means, i hope I can avoid it as well :)

Update: anyone have any suggestions for his hands?

I just meant that since you are calling it a Masterpiece, I hope that you avoid any parts-forming. (having to pop parts of and then pop them back on in a different location instead of actually transforming)

I agree with RL. Try not to make it a partsformer. It’s already a shellformer (nothing you can really do it’s just the way it was designed). I have a few suggestions you may want to think about. The first and probably hardest is to have the front portion (cap) of the boat (portion that covers the feet) be connected to the rest of the boat shell (part that will become his wings). Have the front portion fold back behind the wings (you may need to have it fold a few times (collapse) to have it be flat against the wings). The other, easier thing to do is have the front portion (cap) be attached to the back of the bot mode so that you can just fold the cap back onto the back of the bot mode. He’ll end up having a “backpack” but may be better than partsforming. You can have the front portion collapse onto itself a few times so that it’ll look more flat hanging off his back. The third option is to have the front portion detach as you originally intended but instead of having it sitting in subspace in bot mode at least have it turned in to some sort of shield so that he can use it in bot mode. It’s still partsforming but at least it is used in both modes. These options make the bot mode have more kibble but IMO it’s better than partsforming. But I’m sure some people prefer partsforming over kibble so it’s up to you on what you want.

edit: I was just looking at Titanium Scourge and you can actually try to do what Takara did and have the front of the boat form the legs. It’ll probably compromise how it looks in bot mode, particularly the legs but it’s an option to avoid partsforming.
