Another vote from me for SW. He was always the best looking seeker IMO, just the combo of black and purple was so sweet! Of course, I love SS character the best as he is just so damn brilliant, but as for the toy; to look at/play with, I just love the look of SW!

As for Megatron's add-ons, I'm afraid I don't have them (here in Australia I am just lucky to have got Megatron himself, let alone the add-on kit due to our gun laws).

Regarding Primes trailer, I have both MP-1 and MP-4. I certainly don't believe the trailer is worth the money, especially if you intend to keep him in robot mode. As for the aftermarket trailer that was done for MP Prime, I don't have it so I can't comment on that.

Once you clean all the funky silver off WM Starscream, he's stunning.

You are in Australia... so you know that MP-04 is Aus$100 at Target now. That's US$66 each. How can you say that it's not worth the money? Sure there are qc issues... but even still nothing is mis-asssembled like the MP-02 reissue. I think having a trailer makes this toy much, much better than just the front cab.

I voted for Skywarp. Greenscream just feels like a generic seeker and is the most flimsy, Wallmart Screamer wonderful and Thundercracker WOULD be wonderful except for his QA problems (wonderful metal-flake paint though). But Skywarp just looks SO nice in black, purple and silver.
As for the add-ons, I don't have them (yet), so I can't comment.

Aha! I can answer ALL of these!

The answer to this is a definite 'It depends'. The add-on kit is wonderfully engineered... it does everything the original Megatron's add-on parts did (Including the diaclone gun seat and it fires completely unsafe child-choking plastic bullets, just like the original! Yay!). It's hefty, has lots of die cast in and of itself, and comes with a pair of beefy, die cast replacement shins for Megatron to allow it to combine. If you must have your Megatron gun mode have the add-ons, then this is obvious. I personally find transforming Megatron kind of scary, so he stays in robot mode mostly. However, the gun parts also form the turret, and can mount on Megatron's robot mode as the immense super-BFG his G1 toy had.

Not right now. I'll see what I can do later, but... it's basically G1 Megs scaled up.

If you're going to keep him in bot mode, then no, not really. If you DO go for a trailer, get MP-04's, as you'll want the battlestation.

If you display Op occasionally as a truck, however, Justitoy's non-transforming trailer is extremely solid, looks great as a trailer, and is fairly cheap, and I'd recommend it. Also, if you know a kitbasher who's good at such things, the Justitoy's trailer makes a perfect starting point to kitbash a transforming trailer.

Skywarp. He's GORGEOUS. Seriously, the gloss black and silver and purple all work together perfectly... on my shelf of the three seekers he still stands out the most. He looks stellar in both modes.

Regarding MP Megs and the Upgrade Kit:
Yes. In fact, HELL yes. For a start, he's damn near the size of an assault rifle. Seriously, it's incredibly impressive.

Comparision with all the other Gunformers I own, including G1 Megs. And a pic in robot mode:

I should note, don't aim that monster out of your window at someone, even in jest. You'll end up with SWAT vans surrounding your house.

This doesn't really give a proper impression of the SIZE of the kit, or how solid it is. the base is die cast... as far as I can tell, it's a solid chunk of metal (Except for the moving parts, of course). And the firing mechanism is a perfectly scaled up version of the one in G1 Meg's parts (Which was removed from the US version, but I got the unsafe 'Child Choker' Japanese edition!)

    1) Hell YES!

    2) NA

3)It is, but if you only have one MP Prime and keep it in root form then I can see not getting it.

4)I'm torn between Hasbro SS, and SW myself.

Another vote for Skywarp here as well. The walmart SS has the poorest quality of all the seekers: the plastic is less robust, and you see a ton of spruce marks on him. And it's not just that I happened to get a bad one: I've been commissioned to do a few Thundercracker repaints using the wm SS, and they are like that. He does clean up nice though :)

I think the MP-04 trailer is superb from the brake lights to the two vertical swinging doors to the wonderfully engineered stabilizer arms with the double click extensions. The only thing I wish it had different was the silver paint on the springs and fender on the rear like the Justitoys one had. However, this would be easy to paint if you really wanted too.

As for the WM SS, I would suggest it over the Takara one. Not only for the G1 accurate colors, but for the durability as well. The antiquing look from the paint app actually makes it look cooler in my opinion so I did not mess with trying to remove it.

I don't own a masterpiece megatron, nor do I want to. If one were given to me free, I would sell it immediately. QC reasons.

Possibly. I got my MP-05 Upgrade Kit from TFSource, and they are usually there. I would expect you'd be able to get other MP figures there too.
If you're careful with it you shouldn't HAVE QC problems. The only possible one is the tarnishing issue, and that's easy enough to deal with. Fact is, a lot of people broke their MP-05s because they weren't careful with him. I've had mine since he was released; he's been transformed a lot of times, and he's still in perfect condition.

Takara's non-anime Starscream's my favorite. Sure, he has no real G1 analog, but that color scheme (Dark green/blue and gray) is just bitchin'.

I made him a different character in my collection, of course. The red and gray seeker is Starscream, and always will be.

Also, no thread hijacking intended, but will someone post as to the QC misassembly issues on MP Magnus reissue and MP Thundercracker? Haven't heard about this, and would like to know more.
