Just wanted to say keep posting shots, guys. Really disappointed BBTS hasn't gotten him in yet, so the photos are helping the wait a little. Maybe.

Mine from ShowZ shipped today. Is it really the bay movie style symbol? I thought it was supposed to be the cartoon one like Sunstreaker/Sideswipe+

I believe the only difference is that the movie symbol has angry eyes (the brows make a slight V instead of being completely horizontal). Credit to @Sam !

Man that's so lame dude! Looks like they're only getting the Hasbro version in. Hope your 29+ order isn't with them too.

Yeah, it's the Bay insignia except for the top crest, they got the shape of the triangle in that right. It was supposed to be the cartoon one:

The diagonal 'lines' on the forehead are also slightly longer on the movie logo, but that's just splitting hairs. The angry eyes is definitely the worst part. I mean, the Autobot insignia is based off of (toy) Prowl's face, for crying out loud!

    (I'm over it, I swear :lol )

Man, pretty incredible catch on that insignia as I would have honestly never noticed that! No bother to me, though, I'll just chalk it up to animation error! For that extra animation feel!

Gotta say, that second shot of Prowl you posted is really something else! No idea how long it took you to get him balanced, but it just shows how firm his joints must be. I bet while you were setting them up Chip said "I just hope this works!" and Prowl asked why you were directing him to take that action. :D

This is probably giving HasTak way too much credit, and wouldn't be a good reason anyway, but I ALMOST wonder if they thought the angry eyes would make the brow look more horizontal from a straight-on view since the symbol curves up in the middle from the hump in the hood. With the correct toon symbol, maybe it would have looked a little bit like "sad eyes" from the front? Probably not though, likely just a mistake.

My original MP-17 had white paint spilled on the red crest so they may have always painted the red first? One of the reasons I’m getting the + version is to finally have an MP Prowl without paint flaws on his head so needless to say I’m very concerned right now about all the paint flaws on the heads of the + versions in pics.

Still waiting (im)patiently for A3U to ship!

Haha yes! It was not easy to set up, took a minute or two of balancing to get it right. Definitely would not be possible with my loose og Prowl.

Hey maybe you’re right. The insignia’s not such a big deal when viewed from certain angles anyway. I’m sure I will make my peace with it.

    (I have to :) )

Hopefully those ordering from certain retailers can get returns if the paint is too messed up.

Speaking of differences between 17 and 17+:

Looks like they moved the moulds from China to Vietnam. So I guess give the Vietnamese a break? It’s their first time assembling this guy :lol

Other than the butterface, mine is pretty good. Small areas of imperfect paint but nothing too concerning. I’m am seriously impressed with how tight the joints are for such an old and presumably used up mold. That hip joint took some effort to spin around the first time. I’d say almost the perfect level-he can hold any pose but not so tight that I worry about breakage.

@Sam , I know you and others have reported that the insides of the feet are now painted (awesome!) and it really shows in your picture, but are the insides of the lower legs painted now, too? Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me, but they look like they are in your shot!

My Hasbro Masterpiece Datsuns are still nice and tight in their joints although I did need to do some sanding to get them to hold their rifles straight. The only pose I ever put them in is a more natural version of the stance of the original toys.

I can confirm that they are. I have the now mandatory eyelash-in-the-paint on one lower leg, now that I look, so they're definitely painted. :)

Awesome! This is great news for me because I have my guys stand with their feet at a 45 - 90 degree angle to each other so their inner legs are usually very visible. I hope Wheeljack+ gets that long deserved extra paint coverage, too!
