Been meaning to bring this up for YEARS but always forgot until I was inspired by the QC thread.

My Masterpiece Prime has legs that fall off at the hip. they just slide out. if you pick him up they are likely to just fall off.

Every example of the figure I have seen over the years has had this problem. I exchanged mine repeatedly until I just came to live with it. However, I had never heard of anyone else having this problem til today.

So is this a commonplace issue, and is there a known way to fix it?

This happened to mine as well!!!

It went back in the joint ok, but the solidity it had previously is lacking slightly now. No idea how it came out, it just fell off one day with no real force exerted on it. Very odd.

Same here, left leg specifically - it doesn't seem to click back into place, and the right leg isn't affected.

my Hasbro 25th/mp prime has no leg issues. I honestly don't play with the figure. I transformed it a few times, put in the 3rd party long smoke stacks & then put it on a display shelf. where it's currently sitting for a few years right not, next to mp megatron & hasbro walmart MP Starscream.

I never had that problem. Mine was always with the left foot. It would never stay on.

Same here - left hip, I couldn't see a way to fix it at the time, I just leave him on display so it's not a big issue - but a bit annoying.

I, too, have never had any problems with my MP Prime. Hasbro 20th Ann. Ed. w/ black gun, here.

Does it seem to be any particular version of MP Prime that this problem is more prevelant in?

i've only ever seen this problem with the 20th Ann. black gun version! And every one I've seen had this problem. Never seen had any of the other versions in hand, so don't know if it affects them.

Huh, guess I got lucky with mine then. Watch, the next time I go to mess around with him, his leg will just fall off.

I had this problem with both versions of the Hasbro MP Prime. Thinking it was just a bad one I returned them to the store each time only to discover my replacements had the same issue.

I even got a customer service person to check around 15-20 others that were left on the shelves and they were all the same so I got a refund and never considered buying the mold again.

iGear's Faith Leader hasn't got the issue and is also a better scale to mess around with. It may not be official but IMO they've beat Has/Tak at their own game.

If you had problems with the Hasbro version, get the Takara MP-01 or MP-04 since they tend to be better at times.

i was wondering if some glue around the socket would help. The ratchet wouldn't be affected from the looks of it.

    This was a known issue.

I'm sure it's the one which came with the base (25th anniversary version?) which had the issue.

This problem developed with mine after fighting with trying to extend the legs. Mine just seemed to jam, and one day it came right off. Put it back in, but that hip was ever loose thereafter.

The left leg on my 20th Prime comes off easily too. I was holding him the other day and it just slid right off. Luckily it doesn't seem to affect him too much.

I would wonder if the tightness of the outward hip ratchet and the way the hip can horribly press against the upper pelvis piece is the cause.
