Definitely, if the movie does well. I think that a MP movie Prime would also boost the MP line as a whole, which is good for all of us.

 

Word. More Masterpieces = More goodness!

 

I doubt it will happen, given TakaraTomy seems to have little to do with the movie (other than engineering the toys), and don't seem to be doing very much to promote the toys, or even make the toys more 'screen accurate', as they usually do. They seem to be more interested in promoting their gimmick Transformers lines at the moment.

Thing is, 20th/MP Convoy had gimmicks too, and wasn't exactly flush with painted or sculpted details, other than what was absolutely required.

Movie Prime is probably twice as detailed in terms of sculpt compared to MP Prime, given the MP toys thus far have adhered (mostly) to how they appeared in the G1 cartoon.

 

If they ended up doing a completely new MP movie Prime mold, it'd be cool if it took into consideration a bulk of the shifts & changes in the movie character's transformation. I kinda figure they can't nail all of those changes, but a lot of them would be cool.

 

The reason why the Leader class' transformation and scult is so 'innaccurate' to the actual movie design is because it has to be kid friendly as well as house numerous, large, action feature gimmicks. MP Convoy's gimmicks are a simple light up feature and tons of details and accessories, which are easily added *outside* of the actual bot leaving more room for transformation and articulation. If they could do an MP movie Prime it would be without the automorph gimmicks and built in, pop out safety missle launcher, and would have in their place a more accurate look and more complex transformation.

Size isn't the issue here, Ultimate BB is bigger then MP Convoy, but less accurate and simpler to change because of the built in gimmicks. A highly detailed, gimmick free, supersized movie Prime would flat out rock, whether you call it 'ultimate', 'masterpiece' or whatever else.

Just. Lose. The. Gimmicks.
