Actually other than the sirens\horns, I'd wager the cab would fit in Prime's trailer just fine. The ladder would obviously prevent the rest of him from fitting height-wise and the length of the truck would prevent closing the door, but just eyeballing the cab I'd say he likely isn't any taller than Ironhide.

Probably poor wording on my part, but I was jokingly meaning Inferno's fire engine mode might be too long for Prime's trailer (thus collapsing cab).

You really don't need to weigh the bot down much to do that gimmick.. mainly because he only has to stand with him and not do all kinds of various poses. The difficulty is not so much in weighing the figure down to not topple...but having arms large enough and away from the chest enough to craddle the figure and also not collapse their position. That's why they have the chest piece to help attach Red-Alert without the arms doing it all. For weight, I could make wheeljack suspend Red-Alert off his chest and he could be made to stand fine. The problem is wheeljack's arms won't support him and there isn't enough space for him. So here is sideswipe hanging out over in front of wheeljack. And wheeljack has all plastic legs and probably weighs less than red alert  

 

OT: I see the glorious MP-10 v2 KO in the background... what a piece of art  

 

Interesting, but it would prove your point better if Sideswipe was further out in front of Wheeljack, like Alert would be on Inferno. The centre of gravity will shift from the centre of Inferno's cab to a point further forward, with all of Alert's in front of him.

 

You should and the price point on this guy is ridiculous too!

 

I did the best I could with wheeljack's lack of attachment plate   You'll notice sideswipe is basically hunched over completely to get the mass out in front of WJ best I could. The purpose was to show it's not going to take a huge weight (or almost any) to handle this as long as you can position their feet staggered and you aren't supporting lots of combinations.

You'd be surprised how short TF arms are when you actually try to get them to carry things  

 

^i performed the same experiment with ironhide a while back. Ignoring the tiny arms, he still needed an extra stand to support sideswipe's weight without toppling forward.

 

MP10 with his "Gorilla Arms" might work quite well.

That's cool! But now I'm even more disappointed, that they didn’t do such an extensive retool between Sideswipe and Red Alert. And with Cartoon accurate ver. of Red coming out there was a perfect opportunity for this….

 

Now I'm licking my chops for their Trailbreaker/Hoist reveal.

 

Pretty cool to see that Inferno is slightly taller than Grapple.
