You mean the leader class? It looks awesome, IMO. I really want it, but it's waaaaaaay outta my price range for a TF.

It doesn't have the tattoos which give Starscream a lot of character. It's also mega-expensive. (I used Mega because I'm listening to The Protomen.)

I'd say stick with the HFTD version, since it has the tattoos that give Starscream character. Plus, since he'll have his tats in DOTM, the HFTD version is more accurate. :)

MP Movie Starscream was possibly my favorite Transformer of 2010. He's at least in the top 5. While the differences between the Takara and Hasbro version don't show up that well in photos, in person it is a lot more dramatic. The Takara version just feels slicker, more like a model and less like a toy. The price difference may not quite be proportional to the quality difference, but in my opinion it is still worth it.

Depends on if you like the tattoos and if you want to spend that much money for what is essentially the same toy.

One of my favorite TFs ever. Not everyone likes him though...

It's a great figure, but not worth the extra penny to get a repaint.

The MP paint job looks amazing. I do not think its worth the extra price but it does look good.

As others have said, I like the tattoos as they do give him character. The MP version looks pretty plain in comparison.

They are both really nice interpretations of the character.

One bit of advice though, if you have the Hasbro version remove that ugly red paint off of his chest and wrists. It makes him look 1000 x more awesome. It only took me 5 minutes to do.

    Bolded for agreement.

In-hand he looks awesome and the alt mode is basically a model of the F-22. While the bot mode looks amazing as well, I personally prefer the regular Leader deco with the tattoos. Not sure if he is worth the extra money for the kick ass paint job, but the mold itself is just as cool the 2nd time.

It wad pointed out previously that the mp version costs just slightly more than takara would charge for the version with the markings

I got my MMP SS for a very reasonable price in HK, it is a very nice and well made figure. I might be biased since I don't actually have the hasbro one, but from what I've seen from stores and online pics. Hasbro's leader SS don't even come close in terms of attention to detail.

I have both, MMP is way superior. The real question is about the price difference. Leader classes are pretty expensive where I live anyway so MMP was only $14 more...

It's excellent. Went for that over the Hasbro one - I like the ROTF "tattoos", but just preferred the toy without.

The mould isn't perfect (ankles, wrists and neck should have been balljointed), but then no toy is.
