I guess I just tend to ignore panel seams and things like that that I know exist for transformation or other necessary evils. My mind just overlooks them automatically, so I just see a normal waist.

Just like the panel seams in his gun mode.

It helps in my overlooking that he has so little kibble and is so clean despite his complexity. It's insane to me what they've done with him.

Seeing the photos, I think it looks clear that the thumb is stuck, the index finger can move and point, the three fingers are stuck together and can only open and close, just like the hands of Optimus Prime for example, so I do not understand all this discussion about Megatron perhaps having articulated hands...

Nah pretty sure the three fused fingers have articulation in the middle just like the Seeker hands. We can see the pin and different positions in different pics. The thumb looks articulated but I think it is fixed. So it's still a good increase over the more recent large MPs (Ultra Magnus and Star Saber) which had even less hand articulation than MP-10.

Personally I think it was a necessity for transformation rather than throwing a bone to people liking more articulation - the hand has to squeeze in a small tapering space in alt mode.

I'm totally with those that aren't fussed about panel lines, especially on a gun alt mode. The one caveat to that is.... With all these small panels, I'm slightly concerned that this transformation is going to be a BadCube-esque explosion of panels.

I'll probably do the same if they fit. Both make them, but eness ones are better. I have Eness on my despotron right now.

Regardless of the articulation or lack of it, those hands are easily the best looking MP hands yet.

No way I'm swapping them for spindly skeletal hands just so Megs can give Starscream the finger.

    Good eye.
On a side note, do you keep in touch with DeanML? I miss his enthusiasm and pictures as well as the overall insight he would share.

No. They've stated as much in information about it. While it looks similar, it's not licensed and is based after the animation gun rather than any real world gun.

Thank god it isn't, imagine someone got the megs, and it says "walther p38".

"Oh, a nazi with this gun killed my father".

    Sounds stupid but imagine that.

I think it can even be a several problem with the USA/Australia distribution.

Gun mode is the reason why I'm buying from a local retailer. No way I'm importing that, even if it's grey plastic.

I've just sold my Mightron, who I thought was almost great, but just didn't zing on the shelf (Apollyon on the other did, more attitude than De Niro in a tank), let's hope the gamble pays off - I really want to love this guy, but not there yet (been waiting 33 years for a proper Megatron!!)

Well, I'd think it'd be more of an issue to Europeans or the Soviets if it was going to be an issue to people due to historical reasons. But they don't seem to have any issue with it. Also strange it wasn't an issue in the 80s when the war was less than 40 years behind us.

Anyway, enough off topic rambling, this guy is coming around my birthday and it'll be my second official gunform Megatron. Never had the G1 and despite the nostalgia factor don't really want one. MP 36 Megatron though? Yes please, come wrestle your throne from Apollyon.

Yeah it's one of the few G1s I would get if I saw super cheap but just doesn't do it for me.
