I hear you about the complaints. I"m fed up with all the negativity. Either don't buy this stuff because as others claim, "they should have done this or that" or "I can't believe this". Or make your own stuff.

V2 is more solid than V1. They fixed the ratchets and tolerances. I purchased two, one for each mode and transforming him was a blast. Check out NY they have him for $180 shipped.

 

Keep your eye on eBay...I got an official mp36 with all his accessories ( no box) for $125 shipped...I then got a box for $15.... So now I have a complete official mp36 for $140.... Not bad eh. You just have to keep your eyes open and keep checking eBay.

 

Personally, I'd have zero regrets about having paid full retail for this guy. This is the best MP ever made IMO, and TBH, if TT decided the line ends tomorrow for whatever reason, I'd be happy it ended this way.

I concur I paid $225 from Toy Dojo. I had some issues with one of the legs and face. Eddie fixed it ASAP. Great service! I did end up selling and then bought two V2 from NY and they are legit the best MP out there. Hes a 3d piece of art, that transforms!

 

I paid less than most, thanks to AE's 30% preorder discount combined with the savings of multiple figures shipping together via slow boats. Physicqlly he is very well done, but the colors suck and the cheesy 'toon accurate' faction symbol ruin the sense of cool for me. Now we have MP-36+ with proper colors, but there's no way in hell I'm paying what TT will be asking. If you are paying more than $160-180 for this guy in the current market, you're getting chumped.

 

I just find it funny how people are complaining that the figure looks TOO accurate to the cartoon model. Megatron did have a tiny torso and long legs.

Does anyone know of a difference on the reissue (V2) box that confirms it’s a V2 and not the original release? I have the original release and then I bought a reissue, both from NY, and they appear to be identical and both have a loose right ankle ratchet and the floppy gun barrel. Also the faces are identical. Both have the green tint as far as I can tell. I’m wondering if NY still had stock of the original release and sent me a V1 instead of a V2.

 

As far as I know there is no difference on the boxes. Just the ratchets, tolerances and faces. How are yours on your guys? Loose overall or ok? After having V1 and then getting two V2's there is a big difference in the ratchets and tolerances.

The first picture which is my figure is V2 the other two belong to deathsaurus which are V1.

 

Ah, gotcha. To be honest, I can see the tinge more in the second figures, but also in your first V2 pic. That first pic looks near identical to my V1 Megatron, there isnt much difference. Maybe there was variation, even in the first release? I will check mine again when I get the chance. If anybody else has a V2 that has some pics sgowing the more grey face, please feel free to share.

Do you see a difference? Pictures are subjective bc of lighting. In person you can tell. Does your V1 have a green tinge to your eye?

 

Yes this has been debated if all V1 faces were affected. In person my V2 face looks grey. There is no tint. Again lighting and white balance factor in.

Also in person does your V1 face appear with a hint of green?

 

I only noticed the tinge after reading about it here. It wasnt something that stuck out to me at all, but mine looks like the first picture you have. The other pics have a more noticeable tinge, but mine doesnt look like that. Strange!

 

Some of that could be post processing as well. I just think if you see green in your face then its there. The faces I have here there is no green at all in person. Again, its not a very noticeable difference until you see others or compare. Since I owned both and when I reordered the V2 it immediately stuck out to me because I was used to the greener tinted face.

Do you have a photo of your MP36 by chance you can share?

 

I also will compare the extra faces, as I usually have the stock one on. I will check in later today, but by memory I would say they are the same. Lighting would account for much, so perhaps will need to see mine in more natural light.

And will try to add a pic too.

 

If it is an actual V2 (versus clearing out a warehouse somewhere) there should be a different number stamped into the box.
