Well the Tampoed Faction Symbol Technology (TM) is the only thing 3rd parties can't do.

 

Nah they just need to ship MP36 box with MP05 inside. That should do it.

I know exactly what you mean! I stopped collecting MPs at MP1. Nothing after that in the MP lineup impressed me until Soundwave but what good is he without Megatron? Thankfully XTB took care of that and launched my MP collection. Now I have my three most wanted: Megatron (soon two versions), Soundwave and MP29 Shockwave.

MP36 is looking better and better with the poses just still not as "badass" as MXI. We definitely need a V3 or new 3P mold for the seekers because I still have none and won't have any until there is something good enough.

 

In that last pic, the knee is bent pretty far and looks like that joint has teeth for ratchets? I hope so

Love when people need to nitpick the hell out of every takara product (i.e.: too plain? Boo takara boo! Too many panel lines? Boooo kobajashi fail!!! 1111!!!) and at the same time see the new plastic jesus in every 3p that's around at the time 

I also love when people who dislikes takara's mp efforts feels the urge to express their dislike in every takara's mp post, too.

I don't like what you like, why can't you see everything wrong with it like I do. Basically the premise behind it, but then everyone has selective criticism about stuff they like. Somethings aren't the dealbreaker to some people and they dont cope with that too well.

 

Now we understand why MP29 wasn't tampoed.

 

yeah it wasnt clear to me if that was the case. As though either 3p or official fans are completely innocent. I frustrates me how some people just cant accept it when someone doesnt like what they do and they feel the need to tear it down. If you dont like something just accept that other people do and focus on your own preferences.

The only character from MP1-9 that TT hasn't done a V2 to fit the MP10 reboot is Grimlock. I'd be ok to see them do a Grimlock 2.0 to put the initial start of the MP line to rest. Then going forward, focus on new characters they haven't done in MP form yet, vs. spinning their wheels on V3s and "+" variations. However, I know retoolings and recolors of existing characters makes sense financially for them, and that extra revenue can lead to new molds, so it's a bit of give and take.

 

To be honest it goes both ways, TT bias and 3P bias, and that wasn't the point I was making. From all the images we've seen so far I have a few issues with the aesthetics of this particular figure and that concerns me, I'd be saying the same regardless of whose stamp was on the box. Indeed I have issues with all the 3P attempts too. Until I have this one in hand I wont know which I prefer.

 

Agreed again. Which is the point I was making is that criticisms should be valid no matter who's name is on the box. I didn't go into my issues with the 3P ones, this isn't the thread for any of those figures. And I didn't state my issues with this figure either so I'm not sure what people are getting huffy about.

But usual feathers got ruffled though which is all that matters. Always a pleasure folks  

 

Man all of these in hand pictures are leaving me disappointed I'll have to wait a few weeks to ship mine after release as I wait for the rest of my order to come in stock. Jealous of the rest of you who'll get him sooner. Enjoy, because he looks great.

 

Do we? I think Shockwave wasn't tampoed to leave people free to give him cartoon logos on arms, a regular logo on his shoulder like the comics, or a logo on his chest like the toy. Also the tampos for his alt mode are kinda in the way in bot mode so they wanted people to have the choice of them there.

For Megatron sure they could've given him a regular logo, but for the crushed chest I bet they felt they just had to make it movie accurate, which meant a toon logo. Then it made sense to make his regular one toon accurate too.

Hopefully the lack of a 3rd chest plate with a regular logo is a sign that we'll get a silver toy repaint down the line for those that want it - but who knows really.

I feel like the one in the pictures is a factory reject. I would like to see him in the blister back before he was removed. I bet this one had issues and was pulled from the line. Just a feeling I have. Could be wrong.

 

Watch the video by Machineheart88, it shows Megs in his plastic clamshell right at the beginning.

 

Look at MP-10. He will be repainted. Toy or comic colors, Megaplex colors, there are plenty of options.
