I don't know about Magnus but Megatron is exactly the same price as he was on original release. Obviously dependent on exchange rates it may be better or worse to get him now...in my case its about £13 cheaper...oh well.

 

I love when Japanese companies re-release stuff because they almost always do it at the same price of the original release. Ultra Magnus seems so cheap in comparison to the last few MP releases. He's a gigantic bot for a pretty good price.

 

A Kup might be tempting too.

I'd be careful with AE... they just screwed me out of $200. I left stuff in their warehouse to ship at a later date, requested shipping back in May, never got a shipping number, sent numerous emails asking for one and never got a reply. They even had the balls to charge me for shipping items out they never even shipped. Sent numerous emails through paypal too... nothing.

The items in warehouse were there over 6 months, so I'm out the full $200.

 

If you paid through PayPal start a dispute, PayPal will give you your money back if AE are non-responsive/can't prove they've sent you parcel out. Heck they are likely to give you your money back regardless, they skew heavily in favour of the buyer.

I've used AE plenty of times and had no problems, however I do hear stories like this that suggest should something go wrong their customer service ain't that great.

 

Yeah I would do what he suggests, that's the great thing with using AE at least is you pay with paypal so it's easily disputable, although I've heard as well if you keep it too long with them then there are problems. I tend to ship stuff out with them every 2-3 months if I have POL going with them. Considering you're paying so far in advance too for the figures, it's best to keep your eyes on your POL with them.

Totally agree there! Some US stores tend to jack up the prices when it comes to re releases....

Yes, but it's so much cheaper to get MP-UM from AE or any other Japanese e tailer...heck you would think BBTS would drop the price on him just to get rid of some of the stock they have of him and then order more of the 3rd issue....instead of just getting more of the 3rd re issue and having so much of him in stock haha  

This is a good reminder! Also it's quite a price difference between AE and HLJ with Megs, about $30 USD give or take a few dollars...

And actually this is MP-UM's 3rd release, he got a second release when MP-28 came out...

 

He makes a good point. I am not sure how far back PayPal allow you to raise a dispute.

 

There's an AE thread on here that I used to follow, where some folks were able to dispute it with paypal even when it was past 6 months...Paypal does take into consideration with pre orders and how it goes past their allotted time.

 

I'm waiting for Amazon Japan to put Megatron up again and hope he (again) has US shipping. Couldn't hurt to have another...

I haven't had any real issues with them but I never kept anything in their 'warehouse' for more than 2 months. I use them for all my Transformers and exclusive Bandai stuff now.

Did you purchase MP Megatron from them the first time? I never used Amazon Japan and didn't know how it's shipping costs compared to others.

You mean they are reissuing that hollow Kobayashi abomination? Cartoon accuracy is DEAD! MP 36 is a FAILURE. The fact that it sold out and it is getting reissued in record time MEANS NOTHING DAMN IT. I want Hasui, I LOVE HASUI. That is why crapollyion/craspotrob/kibbletron are what you should buy!!! Please buy them! Stores NEED to sell those as they are doing nothing but using SPACE! Damn you Kobayashi. Damn you!

I think Megatron was always on the cards it was almost sold out when it hit and the few stores left had marked it up by a huge amount.

Magnus is a nice surprise. I picked one up way back when but it's always nice to see it come back.

 

By that sarcasm, MP-10, 11, 12 and 13 still set the bar leaning in Hasui's favor.

I forget... Did Inferno or Ironhide ever sell out? I mean granted, they aren't the second most iconic character in the toy line and noted leader of the enemy army... But that probably had nothing to do with Megatron selling out.

 

Isn't Ultra Magnus still available on BBTS ?

 

American availability is irrelevant to an Asian reissue.
