Most of the stickers I wouldn't use from reprolabels, however the silver stickers on the arms and shoulders and legs look good. I wish Takara had put silver paint on him.

Haven't gone through the whole thread but anyone have a problem with weak shoulder ratchets?

I have problems with the shoulders staying in. Is that what you mean?

Please, anyone can do that :D

By the way I saw your video of your display, it's neat but you know what's more impressive? The number of tears I shed wishing I had that setup.

    Very nice work.

Shoulders stay in place. But the ratchets joints in the shoulder are really weak. Thinking about possibly pulling it apart and adding tension to the spring.

I just checked mine again - I don't have that problem. The shoulders are pretty tight actually. I am sure you can make them tighter

I don't know why I love this MP Grapple so much? The color attracts me, the aesthetics and overall proportions attract me. I just find him to be fun! I feel the same way with the G1 toy. He's really enjoyable and one of my favorite MP's TT has produced thus far.

I mess with mine quite a bit, and I do not have this issue either.

Broke Grapple out of storage today to try a more toy-centric look on him.

This is Inferno's helmet and Artfire's silver face. Pretty cool. Definitely reminds me of the original toy. I also like that the grey helmet breaks up all the orange.

Side note: what a freakin awesome figure this is.

Second (sadder) side note: noticed some chunks of paint chipping off on one of the circles on the inside of his legs. Hope it's not a sign of more to come :(

So frickin cool, can't wait to recreate it myself. Now that hits me in the nostalgia feels.

    Thanks again man :thumb

Any tips for limiting paint chipping on this fellow?

YMMV about sums it up. I have had little to no chipping. What little i did get came transforming him and wasn't really that much, probably more from them covering everything in paint.

Yeah, no paint chipping here, either. Same with my Ratchet. Wonder if it's the climate here or the conditions of the room they're in?

Yeah, don't really know what the culprit is. As mentioned, he's been in storage so I've barely handled him. And I've only transformed him once since I got him. My MPs are stored in a dark closet in an air conditioned room so gotta think it's just the paint application that was a bit faulty.

The thing I don't like about this guy is that his head does not lock well to his back. I like the Inferno mold better. I appreciate TT for making the molds different though. Definitely still a good trade off.

Thanks for posting this pic, I was thinking about doing this same thing with Grapple to see what it looks like but I haven't opened Inferno yet and haven't shipped Artfire.

The G1 Grapple toy was one of my favorites when I was a kid and while I do appreciate the MP's cartoon likeness, I do wish they had included a set of toy-style helmet and face(s) as well. At least there's the option to mix-and-match between the three mold variants.

Yep, it will get worse I'm afraid. I have paint flaked off and scratched or worn off in over 15 places on my Grapple now.

    All the best
