I was basically referring to bot modes, but yeah, the MP is following the toon which is basically the same as the toy in alt mode...it's the bot modes where the difference shines in favor of the officials for me. But the alt modes are very similar especially with the licensed cab.

As much as I'm excited for Grapple (and I am, more than I expected to be!), what I really really want to see right now it pictures of the Tiny Die Cast Ultra Magnus that comes with him.

Tiny Die Cast Optimus was so much better than I expected, and clearly just a mini MP10.

Wondering if Tiny Die Cast Magnus will have the MP22 butt flap and whether he will scale to Tiny Die Cast Optimus based on the 1980's scale chart or the MP figure scale.

I calculated it at $122.73 with the shipping now, was it a lot less before? Still 20 less than TFSource IF i got their free shipping on a stack. But no points. So I'm torn.

The Yen to USD hasn't changed much in a while so the price has been pretty steady.

I guess that's why I'm asking - previously people here were claiming a sub-$100 final price and I'm not getting that to Colorado. But it wouldn't surprise me if the cost increased in a months' time. I wasn't an earlybird on this one.

It depends on when you make your preorder. the lowest preorder price is guaranteed if you have already put in your preorder. Grapple for the people who made theirs when he went up has been at 98-101 dollars

Yes it looks like it has gone up in price. I ordered mine back in November (shipping to TX) and it came out to 11457YEN total which is around 101USD now according to google. The exchange rate a couple of months back had the price to around 98-100.

My set of two (9,380 yen each) from NY when I preorded was 23760 yen shipped back on 9/14. I think at the time the exchange rate was 103 yen to the USD.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. I had to shake myself up to come reality that MP Grapple should be more excited than a tiny die cast MP22 figure, lol. Not sure where I saw, but someone did a nice custom coloring of the mini-MP10 Prime. Too bad, these figures don't come in colors.

In regards to MP Grapple, he couldn't come soon enough. That Architect bot needs to give me some lessons on building as that's my field of study.

Looking forward to this guy - the lower legs look slightly bulkier but the orange colour and extra panel lines make him look better than Inferno.

I'll be selling my mini die-cast figure.

I wonder who Takara will do next - Jazz, Hound, Mirage, Sunstreaker?

A comparison between the 2 currently available 3rd party offerings and the upcoming MP-35. I think the MP wins this round. It has been mentioned, but in case anyone missed it, MP Grapple is composed of 50% new parts with a new gimmick in the transformation process.

Have to agree with you, I didn't like inferno, bought backdraft instead and I'm happy with him but Grapple? This is an MP worth waiting for!

Takara MPs win EVERY round :)

The Maketoys one wins the "smallest out of proportion head" award.

So true, it's not even close!

*Patiently awaits justifiers to come and explain how happy and secure they are with their 3rd party purchases...which kind of defeats the purpose really* :lol

Honestly it was never close in the Inferno/Grapple wars, TT is just too far ahead in the design of their characters. Its hard looking at the animation sheet that anyone would be excited for Grapple, buy TT found a way. I'm anxious to see them put their foot down in the Trailbreaker/Hoist wars.

I have Wrestle and for me, the only let down is his head. I wish I could fit the Takara one with his body.

I will probably sell off my Wrestle and get this guy.
