It's got an ever-so-slight case of yellowing around the leg area, and it could use a good cleaning up, but otherwise it's in good shape. It'll look much better once I'm finished, and give it a good paint job to bring out the details (assuming I don't scrap it in the process). My other one looks much better, though.
hardware stores should have the larger sized hinges and joints suitable for fort max. if the joint can hold a window, it can definitely hold on fort max.
Your either brilliant and years ahead of everyone else or crazier than the Joker eating a bowl of Fruit Loops.
Theres a Fortress maximus on F.R.'s site.....I'm not knockin you, but you were wondering if you were first. Or is his not considered "articulated"?
If we're thinking of the same one, his was a custom Fortress Maximus made out of Cybertron Metroplex (I think), whereas mine is using the actual G1 figure of Fortress Maximus. F_R's definitely looks a lot more sleek and dynamic though. In the end, even if I'm successful, it'll still be a brick. Just an articulated brick, lol.
Got to give it to you man. You have guts. I'm in shock seeing one of Fort Max's arms off of his main body but at the same time I'm looking forward to seeing this massive figure evolve in to a fully articulated robot.
Hey man, you need to go back and attach those images! You can attach 'em to the same posts their all in.
Past the point of no return now. I'll try to look for some good hinges today, won't have much time to work on it after today because we have family coming up for the weekend. So, it may be next week before I get to work on it some more. I'm still going to sand down the edges so it turns more smoothly, but this basically shows the range of motion it'll have.
craziness, if you are using those gundam hands, are you going to reinsert the twin guns on the back of them?
I remember back when, things would break and we would cry about it. Now we break things and Cheer about it.. Man this looks great so far. Good luck, this is gonna be good!
I don't think there will be enough room to reattach them and still have the ability to rotate, but yes I'm at least planning on attaching them to the back of the hand.
This was my "dream project" that I talked about in my ROTM interview. Glad (but kinda sad too) to see someone taking th project on. You nailed down the one thing that I have had a hard time getting a hold of...THE BODY! (Still hoping someone can help me source one out!) I sized up the leg and arm joints from Cyb Starscream and Unicron, and they look like they could be used to add articulation. Look forward to your progress, your stuff is always great! Good Luck!
cooul, maybe trimming the excess of the edges will help them rotate? i can't tell how much space is in those gundam hands, looking forward to seeing what you do with this
I am watching this!!! Have you checked out purchasing a cybertron fort max? Nice strong joints on that guy.
