It's an awesome idea, but if it's tru I'm dissapointed that it's another repaint sort of. The clear plastic tends to be more fragile than the normal molded stuff so I can see tons of problems. Why not give us the cone heads? I'd go ape shit over a Thrust masterpiece!
Although a MP Ghost Starscream would be nice, i would rather see the other 3 seeker jets made into MP figures.
Yup my MP-03 arm broke off. These are extremely fragile toys. I think the painted blue kind of got stuck and when I was changing him to bot form it just snapped. Maybe with out any paint apps on this clear one, this won't happen, but I doubt it. Just keep this one sealed up because it breaks very easily.
You and I both, man. I'm not really hyped about clear versions and I really wanted a new mold. Hell, I could be held over by what Coolhand suggests below: Yes, I'd like that quite a bit. Throwing seeker repaints and retools out there is always nice. Yeah, I hadn't thought of that.
this better not be true. enough with the seekers please unless their coneheads! i wouldn't be surprised if they just did all the rainmakers too.
Here's another theory: It may be true, yet NOT the next in the MP line at the same time. Maybe it's a store/regional exclusive, similar to what Black Convoy was with e-hobby? There would still be an MP-09 and (hopefully) MP-10 in 2010.
Why does everybody think clear plastic is so fragile? I opened my henkei GhostScream and it's just as stable as any other Classics figure, clear or not. I also had the G1 GhostScream and same there, no fragility whatsoever.
Cool! I'm so glad they're just re-releasing an old mold again in a different deco instead of coming up with something new! Who needs new figures when we can just buy the same one over and over again! Now all we need is 7 more Prime redecos, 4 or 5 more Grimlocks, and a whole rainbow of recolored Megatrons! (sarcasm) I wonder, with all the garage companies that have been putting out awesome stuff, if Has/Tak just stopped trying, and started taking the "why bother, Fansproject is just going to do it better anyways" approach to toy making...
I feel certain this is going to be the case. I think we're definitely getting Rodimus Prime (or Hot Rod) in 2010 and that, if it's true, the Ghost Starscream will be an exclusive. In fact, if you think about it, in 2009 we got MP Black Convoy (eHobby), Grimlock & Skywarp (Hasbro, Walmart Exclusive). 2010 will probably follow the same pattern if you think about it. Wide release, NEW figure, Rodimus Prime... Walmart Exclusive Grimlock... Asia exclusive whatever Ghost Starscream. And, maybe some other repaints. Takara seems to stick with ONE NEW MP a year. Stop frickin' out people.
A Ghost Starscream Masterpiece figure? Cool. Sure hope that it's for real. I'd sure love to see pics of this.
