Guys this is an older custom I did but I need some help- I am doing another MP Grimlock but am not sure whether or not to do a similar version to this one or a more G1 looking cartoony version. Thoughts??

I originally had this guy primed and partially painted a very long time ago but my busy schedule has kept me from finishing him up for months! Anyway, I have not been able to use my airbrush lately due to paint booth issues so I decide to pick him up again.

I took his pics in both daylight bulbs and regular bulbs because gold is a hard color to get an accurate look on camera.

He was going to head to Ebay but I ended up selling him to a fellow TFW2005 member :)

He's heavily worn, I have tons of layers of paint apps to create his worn grimy metal look along with several washes and tarnish apps. He's by far my personal favorite custom I've done to date.

ALTERNATE MODE pics NOW UP BELOW!
More pics can be seen on my Flickr Account.

    UPDATE PICS: With Sword!

I've seen customs cell shaded to look like they were from the cartoon. I've seen customs dry brushed to look true to life. I've seen customs painted to look straight up toy accurate.
This is the first custom I've seen that looks like it came from the comic books.

This is absolutely gorgeous and I really hope to see this new style catch on.

Guys, I could use help here...I am working on another MP Grimlock. Would you prefer a cartoon G1 kinda version or battled up like this?

The Grimlock in this thread is outrageously amazing!!! Incredible work.
Given the option, I'd probably slightly prefer the cartoon G1 look, but either one you do will be stunning!

    Whoa! Great work!

You could always go for a scarred up cartoony version, if you can't decide on one. I think that could be neato, as well.

Personally, I much prefer the one in this thread over a cartoon look. Just my three cents. =)

G1 Cartoony look :)  I think it'd mostly just involve painting the entire golden chest assembly yellow and painting everything else gold yellow too. Then an Autobot emblem on the chest. The window would need to be yellow too.

    Anyway, nice work!

I agree with nonnef, as good as the toon look is this Grimlock is king. Seriously amazing.
Saying that though a mash up of toon look and battle damaged could work, you don't often see them 2 styles brought together.
