Was this ever stated outright? From what I understand, the Masterpiece line is about Transformers, the brand as a whole, and not Transformers G1. Also...

Very accurate figures don't exist for a ton of other characters as well. And yes, just because there may be more accurate toys made of those characters, doesn't mean they're super-accurate by any stretch of the imagination.

How is this not going against your own argument? We now have modern iterations of G1 characters elsewhere as well.

 

It was never stated anywhere. The only reason MP is primarily G1 is because they're the ones primarily in need of updates, and have the broadest appeal due to the amount of revisits and reversions.

 

So, now if we could get a masterpiece Blackout, that'd be great.

 

I hope, only if hasbro stop realesing them, Takara can continue the line anyway.

 

Hm, my money is on a rework of his Human Alliance version. Was his best mold from the movie lines and they already did HA Soundwave so it makes the most sense.

 

Both mpm Optimus and Bumblebee are completely new molds. It makes no sense for Barricade to just be a rework of an old mold.

 

If I remember correctly, only ApeFace and Optimus Primal have gorilla arms!

Nope, it's going to be a completely new mold. Some of the transformation scheme might be similar, but that's because they're the same character. However, rose-tinted glasses off, the HA wasn't that good, in all honesty. Inaccurate back, no-hand syndrome, car interior kibble, it was far from being a definitive version.

 

I've also seen it called curling iron arms. Its a design choice where when you face the hands the right direction, the elbows face inwards. When you position the elbows correctly, the palms face forward. Lots of movie Bumblebee figures have the problem.

 

All these listings have been pulled again.

 

As usual. Most of these never stay very long, but at least we have official confirmation that there's such a figure in the works. Now to sell off my entire movie collection
