    Yep, this one just arrived.

    And he's indeed pretty cool.

The look is without a doubt IDW Impactor is almost a pitch-perfect representation of the leader of the Wreckers and that's obviously a big accomplishment. He also has decent posability, not great posability mind you but decent enough compared to other 3P offerings (or even a few official ones). I do love the amount of accesories that he comes with, a quite interesting set that makes the figure even better (I just wish he would come with some sort of melee weapon, with the kind of wrist articulation he has is a shame he doesn't come with a sword or something like that).

It also has a pretty solid feel which I appreciate but at times is too solid for its own good. Particularly the legs which can be too stiff and problematic when you try to pose the figure.

The transformation though... is not so cool. It involves way too many parts moving and needing to be at just the right place to work for my taste. Mind you, is not awful and I'm sure it will get more natural once that I transform it more times but it still it could have been better (at least is not the living nightmare of the Azalea mould since I was actually able to turn this thing into its vehicle mode). It doesn't fit into Kultur's category of "simple yet fun" transformation but I still can work around it.

And here it is along with Takara Springer, they definitely look great together and they're just at the perfect scale which makes the fact that MMC made their Rodimus bigger than Springer laughable and it would be even more laughable if they make a bigger Springer just to compensate since they would ruin an already messy scale chart.

Aside from a few complaints, I quite dig this figure and I'm glad that I got it.

Maybe MMC should just make their own slightly taller Springer then :p

Maybe but it would still be a waste of time and effort.

Agree! Kinda. Bang for the buck/quality wise ... HasTak knocked it outta the park with Springer.

But the overly hollow/under articulated/small-ish figures days are pretty numbered. Thankfully I say of course.

I would only need to replace a few select figures. So that is good also.

I finally got this marvelous bastard. He certainly does not disappoint in either mode.

PSX still has Spartan in stock as of today. Nabbed one from them last night. EMS to the States made him a bit pricey, but it needed to happen. Canifex is on his way and his right eye needs a date.

I keep going back and forth on this guy. Had his arms been thicker, I would not hesitate.

Yep, he's super solid. I added a bit of lubricating oil in his thigh swivels, and the tightness is just fine now, both for posing and transforming.

That's tricky. No long string of low priced items to artificially build up feedback (or even worse all auctions are private). No sudden explosion of items up for auction. Been a member since 2007. The price is not one of those "too good to be true" instances. The negative feedback is over a year old. The number of transactions is a little low. My best educated guess is that this is some average joe in Hong Kong who may be trying to start a store or just becoming more active on eBay. See if anyone else has had some dealings with him and proceed with caution. Trust your gut. If it is telling you that something is off, chances are that something is amiss.

Yeah, I had no idea he was still available from PSX. How much did y'all pay with shipping to the lower 48?

So I'd left this guy alone on my shelf for a while in tank mode and when I went to transform him yesterday I discovered that the upper thigh piece on one leg has become impossible to rotate.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? And suggestions on how to fix it?
