Jesus. What's up with MMC and using some of the most uninteresting designs for their toys?
Yeah, though now I recall Spartan did something similar
I think it could use some more black/gray. Like for example, the knee pads, elbow pads, and maybe the whole thighs.
That would be ideal, since the legs could stand to be wider and closer together as well, but I wonder if it the engineering would be workable with the dimensions tweaked.
I could see this as a Tankor pretool. After all, they've already done Obsidian & Strika...
The real question still remains, how big is he?
Looks to be around Stormbringer and Revelations era.
Which I'm a fan of, and obviously some of them are as well (Whirl, Warpath, unreleased Thundering).
There's also less likely to be five versions of early Idw characters releasing at the same time.
What other designs are there?
G1 - Ocular Max could do that, but I'm not really a fan of G1 Warpath's design (probably why I like Badcube's Warpath)
Wfc/Foc - Planet X
Generations/Classics - you really want MMC reformatted wasting time on improving a HasTak mold? Nah
Bayverse - one of the movie toy companies
I do like Badcube's concept art
Of course not, there's not much to improve from the Generations mould anyway and MMC's idea of "improvement" can be... weird at times.
I just want them to produce something that actually looks, you know, good.
I imagine he's about voyager size, like most MMC figures.
I love it. The Generations one is solid but I've always thought he should be bigger. Definitely a pick-up for me.
I like it. It's pretty cool looking.
Pretty obvious Perceptor remold
I like it. Outta nowhere, but I like it.
I like it. I'm not blown away, but I like it. Not a character I was chomping at the bit for but i think I'll pick him up.
Omega SPREEM pretool??
Now THAT is an H tank
I don't know about this I mean mmc is great but this for me is way less exciting than grimlock... But I feel like at least from my mind and idea of the character should be way bulkier
My first thought too.
Doesn't look like it from the backside view, but not sure.
This looks alright to me, but I really love the generations version since it hides the kibble so well. This is probably a pass for me. I do hope it sells, though.
This is awesome! I've always wanted to add Warpath to my 3rd Party Wreckers collection (current position held by BadCube's Wardog). Unfortunately, Wardog does not really fit in perfectly since most of my 3rd Party Wreckers have Cybertronian alt modes (MMC Reformatted Arcee, Impactor, Roadbuster, Rodimus, Whirl + Mech Ideas Topspin and Twin Twist).
Hardball will definitely solve that problem and will take Wardog's place in the squad when he's released.
I think Hardball's design is pretty spot on for an IDW Warpath (Spotlight: Galvatron):
And another one, this time from Spotlight: Cyclonus:
Really looking forward to this! Hey MMC, bring it on and make this happen! By the way, where's my Guzzle?!
WRECK N' RULE!!!
The proportions don't look right in bot mode where it makes him look kind of weak and unimposing, and i think its coz the waist looks really high up like he's a bit of a nerd wearing suspenders. Everything else looks awesome, but i don't know if i can get over the proportions. He's missing too much of an abdomen section, and that coupled with how wide the shoulders are compared to the hips doesn't help.
