It's a reference to some generic (non-toy) characters from the comics.

Hook line and sinker were hardly "generic" they were bas-@ss heralds of Unicron that appeared in multiple issues and then got their collective ticktets punched in an awesome battle with Galavatron.

Demolishor in Armada also says "Hook, Line, and Sinker!"

I actually laughed when I read that they were going to be called Astro-Line, Astro-Hook & Astro-Sinker. I guess the only way they could get a copywrite (or is it trademark on names... I keep forgetting) on such generic names was to add Astro to the begining of each one. Still, it's a nice little obscure reference for all the fans who know and it makes me wonder... if Club Astrotrain is going to come with three minicons who are homages to three G1 Marvel Comics Heralds of Unicron (who eventually got their asses beat by Galvatron) does that mean Astrotrain is going to be a servant of Unicron's also? Just something that crossed my mind.

Also, I'd have to say that the club comic is starting to be good again... after the crappy/fanwanky December issue... I was starting to loose hope and the following comics didn't do much to instill faith that IDW was doing any better with it. But, if they keep the pace they're setting now, I think it could be a decent couple more chapters for this year's issue.

First of: It's "copyright", not "copywrite". A "copyright" is the right to makes "copies" of something. A "copywrite" is... I dunno. A monk spending days and nights making hand-written copies of books. ;)

Second, names are trademarked. They are "marks" used to distinguish certain products in "trade". :)

If they could be copyrighted, anyone copying (i.e. writing down) or "performing" (i.e. saying out aloud) these names could be found guilty of copyright infringement, whereas trademark violations are only possibly in commerce. :)

It's not that difficult to remember which is which if you just try to think about what the word means. :)

It's a good thing I copymarked and tradewrote all the stuff about the original Hook, Line, and Sinker the other week when nobody was looking. MWAHAHAHA.

Can't wait to see what molds get used, though I'm guessing it'll be a redo of the Requiem Blaster.

*looks at previous post* Dude... I really need to start using spell check when I post early in the mourning...

Thanks Nevermore. I'll keep all that in mind next time. And you're right... stoping to think about the words does help... but not when you're half asleep. :D  Ah... the joys a parenthood... :lolol

Glad to see Hook, Line and Sinker get some love.

I think the convention and the TCC are the ideal place for that type of fanwank. ;)

    :lol

I don't know if mourning instead of morning was intentional or not, but that made me LOL'd. :D

Somehow, I too, have a hunch telling me that the "Astro" Mini-Cons team is gonna be REPAINTS (AGAIN, sigh!) of the Space Mini-Con team that gave us Requeim Blaster. I'm with you on this..

Very. Mourning my lack of sleep usually. Although... for someone who does freelance writing for magazines... my spelling does suck at times. Ah... the wonders of word perfect.

And, back on topic, I definently agree that the TCC is the best place for any and all fanwank for the fans. Afterall... the club is for the fans right. :D
