And HasTakTomy are mastering it. Seriously, the TFP Voyagers are completely stuffed with robot parts on this inside. There is absolutely no wasted space. This means that while their vehicle modes are somewhat small, their robot modes are really damn big.

What other HasTakTomy figures have you guys found that practice the artform of Mass Shifting: Little Vehicle, Big Robot ; Big Vehicle, Small Robot?

Pictures showing the alt and robot modes side by side are encouraged, too! I'll take some myself when I get home.

Classics voyager Prime does a pretty good job, too.

Animated had a lot of Mass Shifting guys. Ratchet, Bumblebee, Prowl and Blitzwing (especially that tiny tank mode).

Winful! They all kinda do that on the show, too. :D

Of course, the scientist in me would like to point out that you're talking about variable geometry causing length, height, and depth shifting. No mass shifting. ;)

^ Hence, an artform. What's neat about Prime is that he compresses in some places and expands in others to make a big, non hollow robot. What's neat about Bulkhead is that his robot mode expands so damn much that he is really damn hollow, but because everything pegs together so well, he doesn't feel hollow.

Animated Lugnut does it pretty well, but becomes a smaller robot. Same with his RTS counterpart.

If you leave his legs in long mode, Rotf Mixmaster also turns into a wide and quite tall imposing robot from a relatively small cement Truck.

Lockdown was surprising. He is a deluxe but stands at Voyager size. But I gotta agree these prime toys do this in spades.

Playing poker tonight, hopefully I can win some money to buy buy buy.

Yup. His RTS figure is really nice with that giant wingspan.

Too bad about TFA Voyager Bulkhead. His "Mass Shifting" isn't so much Mass Shifting as it is shoving a bunch of kibble against his sides.

Make a mass shifting Megatron that fits in a deluxes hands, then we're talking. LOL.

This thread reminds me of this pic:

    ^ Nice!

I suppose the Tapeformers are good at this, too, since getting bigger than a tape is their entire point.

Terradive/space case is good at this, that vehicle mode has no kibble underneath due to it's design, something rare for jet transformers yet the robot forms are perfectly formed.

^ Not really mass shifting, though. It's not like it changes size drastically, just shape.

Prime Arcee is a good one as well. Small motorbike mode, closer to the Energon Basic than the 2007 Movie Deluxe for size, but the robot mode stands almost the same height as the Movie Deluxe.

In my eyes, the best "mass shifter" is HA Jazz. Tiny, Tiny car turns into a very big bot.

The tapedeck is the WST I believe and the robot mode one looks like a custom.

ROTF Wheelie. Not a lot of people have that toy (I don't), but HOLY CRAP does he expand from vehicle mode from what I've seen.
