Did anyone else read this yet?

I have -no- idea what the backstory is, aside from the guy in the shop telling me that it's a spinoff from an Ultimate FF arc.

But man...the dialogue during the latter half was hilarious.

A bunch of Marvel characters who've died and crawled out of their graves for more action?

    Sounds like the X-Men. :p

Vangelus, that's pretty much right. In UF4 the team met up with a bunch of crazed, flesh-eating super-heroes gone bad when jumping dimensions. Someone apparently liked it enough to decide to expand and now we have Marvel Zombies which is set in the alternate world. My friend called me to say it was pretty funny, so I'll try to pick it up tomorrow.

Yeah, it's ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR #21-23, which you could probably still get if your comic shops have it in the back issue bins. Or you could wait for the trade which might be coming along soon.

It was really good, I liked it. Some of the dialogue was a little creepy (spiderman talking about wanting to die becuase he ate MJ and Aunt May). I'm really interseted in who the remaining 12 on Asteroid M are and how many shotguns/chainsaws they have.

    Spoilers ahead!

    FLEEEESH

Yeah, the dialogue was the darkest of dark humor. Spidey seems to be the outsider of the group. He thanks them for a share of Mags-meat, and Giant Man says he got lucky that they were frenzied enough to toss scraps around. And then when Spidey -seems- to have an epiphany about their plight, someone just says "Ah man, not again".

I dunno, but I find the way that they're a bunch of hero-minded monsters that get overwhelming cravings for flesh in between trying to figure out the science of their condition just...-such- an easy 5 issues to want to pick up. :D

And the whole bit with Bruce Banner...

    "I don't want a hole in me! I really DON'T!"

And Luke Cage "not being desensitized enough for it", that killed me.

Luke: "Wait--what was THAT? Did anyone else SEE THAT?!"

Spidey: "That was a bone popping through Banner's stomach-- making a hole big enough for part of Magneto to fall out. We ALL saw THAT. In fact, Thor is leaning over to EAT some of THAT right now."

    SPOILUUUUHRS....EEEEEEEND....muuuur...

The whole cynical humorous tone of the entire sit-down pow-wow they had during the end...I'm hooked already. Total horror imagery coupled with insanely dark humor.

    I really enjoyed it.

Superbly creepy and just the right amount of humour thrown in for good measure.

Anyone want to start speculation on who the remaining 12 are? I'm not sure if Silver Surfer is included, but I'd think that they're mostly some of the more ruthless characters. Wouldn't be surprised to see Venom or Sabertooth, and I'm almost certain there will either be Punisher or Nick Fury.

I think the Punisher and Nick Fury and probably dead and eaten.

Think about it, the virus tragets only humans with super-powers, and last I checked those two didn't have any.

Yes, the virus, but, they eat... anything. Supers are merely the more delicious of the foods on offer.

I didn't say that it had to be logical that they were still alive, but it's a zombie story, so I'm just assuming that at least one of the survivors is going to be some kind of trigger happy gun weilding badass.

For some reason in the Ultimate FF story Vision was in the background as one of the zombies.

Also, Iron Man's a zombie (which would still make more sense than a Zombie Vision, but wouldn't he still be a normal human without the armor?).

    That's a good point.

I guess then that Nick Fury and The Punisher are open game as well.

I had been debating this since it was announced. Up until yesterday I still wasn't sure if I should pick it up.

Thank God I did. This was the most darkly amusing comic I've ever read.

My only problem with it was the book felt too short.

This was one of the wildest books I've read in a while. Broken nosed Banner not being able to change rocked.
