From this weeks Joe Fridays: Week 51
That's a strange looking U.S. flag on Wolverine's face...
Anyone here get the incentive?
So... the prices will be lowered? Because I don't think Sensational Spider-Man is worth $5 an issue.
Thanks for the heads up Primal, you are really on the ball with this stuff.
Nice that would save me a buck over each 2.99 dollars comic since now the dollard = 2.99US = 3.45$ Canadian
Now comic book are 4.25 dollars
Hooray! Now my 25% discount will actually mean something instead of just adjusting for the "Gouge Canada Tax" on all American goods. Sadly TFs aren't getting the same adjustment. And THAT is the flag that should be on his face. Even though it would be brutal, I would laugh if Nuke carved a maple leaf into his face. Poetic Payback.
This is good news. Here's to hoping other publishers follow suit.
why dont they also adjust the US prices, lower it too....
Because the American price is the actual price that needs to be charged for Marvel, Diamond, and the comic shops to make a good profit. Since everything is done off the US dollar, we Canadians have been overcharged since our dollar started gaining on yours. Our dollar gains faster than places change prices to match. Once upon a time $4.25 Canadian was $2.99 US. Now, it is about $3.34 Canadian. Add a bit because it costs more to ship comics across the border, and we Canadians should be paying $3.50, not $4.25.
EDIT: I should also note that while JQ is a dick, at least he doesn't want to do contrived mass retconning like DC.
Wooot I may be back to comics....who am I kidding Ill just buy more....
yeah, but if they lower our price, then the Canadian price will also go down....so in the end, we both would win
