I've noticed recently two new titles. Spiderman Noir and Xmen Noir. Given I'm a fan of the art style I decided to check them out. Xmen Noir I found confusing. The writing makes assumptions that you know what's going on, and I do not at all. Spiderman Noir conversely I love. It's set in the great depression giving a different angle on every character. It takes time to set them up as new individuals without ties to the established marvel universe, and builds a the kind of "No one is right, and the world is screwed up." feel that a Noir setting needs. I'll keep reading this one.
