I'd rather it wasn't Ultimate Nick Fury, but since they already chose that path I am glad they worked it out so they didn't have to switch the actor on us.

More like Snakes on the Quinjet!

Agreed. Hollywood(apparently Marvel too) has felt the need to recast all these roles that were formerly white characters for black actors which seems pretty stupid but oh well I guess, Fury was never a big favorite of mine so its not that big of a deal, and yes I realize its based on the Ultimates version of Fury. ANywho, all's well that ends well I guess.

We already have a Black Widow. She's appearing in the GIJoe movie.

I'm glad. I asked him if he was going to be Nick Fury in the Avengers movies once, and he said "I hope so."

I think it was Marvel that was lowballing.

It's a combination of Howard being offered a dramatic pay cut, and Favreau's disappointment with the actor's performance. There was unconfirmed rumors of "problems on the set," but that could be BS. Honestly, I originally blamed Howard for wanting too much money, but if this story is true then I see where he's coming from. 50-80% less money is a pretty big deal.

Here's the original source, but I'll post the good bits: Why Won’t Terrence Howard be in ‘Iron Man 2′? Money and More… RopeofSilicon.com Movie News, Trailers, Reviews and More
