I've been meaning to; Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite writers. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I think it's basically a story of what if the Marvel heroes started popping up in 1602 instead of 1961. Kind of a colonial America version of the Marvel Universe.

As Switchblade said, Marvel 1602 is basically about the hero's of the Marvel universe who were introduced by 1961 showing up in the year 1602 instead. I'd tell you why that happens but I don't want to spoil it for those that haven't read it yet... Anyway, it mostly takes place in Europe actually, but they do end up in colonial America. I thought it was a pretty good story.

There is also another miniseries called Marvel 1602: New World which picks up a little after the first miniseries left off. Issue 5 (of 5) of New World I believe is supposed to be out this week.

Volume 1 of Marvel 1602 is a classic, and in a way actually fits into the normal marvel universe rarther than being just simply a "what if...". I'd recomend getting it in the hardback edition as it show the artwork up brilliantly.

Volume 2 from what I've read of it blows chuncks. I try to pretend that it never happened.

I thought the series was great until they ended the first mini series the way they did ( I will not ruin it for anyone ) and I refuse to pick up the second series because of that
