News Post: Martin Short Working On Voice-over For Transformers: Bumblebee
I think he'll be a good Decepticon.
I heard of that months ago. Wasn't sure if it was true because it came from wiki.
I got to learn about it from a guy who tweeted the info. There was no link but I suspected that he may not be bluffing since he seems to be a reputed journalist. Did some digging and the link to the source came up.
I like Martin Short, but it's hard to imagine him as a Decepticon.
Interesting. I wonder who he'll be playing.
I’m not sure if you’re joking or not, but I love Martin Short. The dudes one of my favorite comedians, but I would certainly hope not. Even though there’s no evidence that Alpha Trion will be in this movie, I would hope they’d get George Takei to voice him again.
Or you know..just a narrator gig? Lol
I like him. Haven't seen or heard of him for a very long time.
Seems like a lot of y'all live under rocks, just sayin'. Some big actor comes on for a TF project, y'all like "who's he? Bet he ain't shit compared to Brian Drummond" like the hell he ain't shit compared to him, Martin can act circles 'round Brian.
...personally, I love SCTV and was in the minority who liked Maya and Marty, so having Martin on for this, regardless of what it is he's doing, is one great big get.
Awesome, he rocks every character he voices
Well let's there bumblebee I don't know if he'll talk in this movie so that's a no optimus is being voiced by Peter Cullen appaently barricade is In the movie from imbd which he'l be voice by the same actor so there's that black car so it seems he'll voice him or he's just going to narrate
Likely a decepticon. With this as a prequel, Bumblebee shouldn't have his voice back yet, and Barricade really should only be speaking cybertronian, but depending on how many lines he's got, they did previously want to move away from subtitles even though it's universe/timeline accurate. Since about ROTF they decided to toss away subtitles. New director though, so who knows if they bring those back or not. The general thought was "average audiences don't like reading, and it's difficult on kids too." Which sadly tends to be true. A few other properties made that transition because of how it opened it up to wider audiences and became bigger hits because of it.
Would be kind of funny if it's Knockout.
I do think he'd make a great Decepticon, recently I re-watched Jimmy Neutron and his voice is very memorable. However, I think a more likely option is that he's recording voice-over lines for Bumblebee's radio voice.
Given that Bumblebee's more famous for his radio voice and that what little continuity the movies have bothered leaving intact involves BB's voice being damaged well before ever arriving on Earth (I believe in the prequel comics for the first film it is shown Megatron directly tears it out because BB launched the AllSpark into deep space to keep it from Megatron, and Megatron being directly involved with how BB loses his voice in Aligned seems to imply that is what Hasbro wants people to think), Bumblebee most likely will not be talking in a film set before the first entry.
Marty could be voicing Blaster or Perceptor raidioing in to a lost Bee, for starters.
But—thinking back on Short’s appearances on Bill Maher* a couple year’s back, I feel like Martin could voice Kup, given how Martin and his voice have aged.
I also may be wrong, but I thought I saw somewhere some speculation that Kup might be in the Bee Movie.
*Which I gave up on for a second or third time after the most recent set change and, more so, a noticeable drop in panel quality
Huh. Okay, let's see where this goes. Certainly not a bad addition to the cast.
Martin Short will show up for pretty much any animated voice role you throw at him but cool.
