Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter sending back first Hi-Res pics!

    This thing has one of the most powerful telescopic zoom cameras ever sent to another planet, it can resolve features on the surface down to about 1-meter.

    I will also act as a telecommunications relay for current and future mars rovers and spacecraft.

    It will be testing a new Ka-Band data transmission scheme that is supposed to transmit data at higher rates using less power (very important for planet to planet communication)

    For me, this is all VERY exciting!

    Eh, I'm a surveyor and used to all different units. If you'd like I could have said I'd prefer to have 4.971 link resolution aerial photos.
